Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? "How about we start with the Full Body Bind, then?" she asked him, readying her wand. She could tell that he wasn't very confident in this class, poor guy. She'd do her best to help him gain more confidence with using his wand.

Second Year Posts: 179 Group: Hufflepuff Member #136 Joined: May 19 2007	Merrick shook with nerves slightly as he was performing spells in front of others and the Professor. He wasn't really paying attention to what was going on when he suddenly felt his arms and legs lock to his body and he fell to the ground. He searched desperately with his eyes for Genevieve to come and unlock the spell as he was slightly claustrophobic and the body bind was freaking him out a bit.

She quickly said, "Finite." She offered him her hand, pulling him to his feet. "Sorry, looked like I freaked you out a bit there," she said, shrugging. "Now you can get back at me, though," she said, grinning as she stood near the pillows, waiting for him to cast the Body Bind on her as well.

He recalled Professor Aphelion's words about not letting fear stop his spellcasting. A sudden explosion of confidence coursed through him, though he knew not from where, and he cried, "Petrificus Totalus!"

Unregistered	August had been caught off guard by John and the spell hit her as she was staring off at the others in the class. From the pit of her stomach came at first a chuckle, followed by a giggle, until squeals of laughter came up through her throat and burst from her lips. She was thoroughly enjoying the charm as it felt wonderful to laugh this hard. She was almost hoping he wouldn't undo the charm. The feeling of joy continued for several minutes until she realised her stomach, cheeks and throat were beginning to hurt and she then realised the power of such a charm.

She was cheering inside, congratulating Merrick on casting the spell so well. She laughed a bit inwardly, thinking she would do so anyway once the jinx was lifted.

He copied her counter spell and she unfroze. He pulled his friend to her feet. "Did I hurt you? I'm sorry if I did," he said apologetically.

You cast it perfectly," she said, patting him on the shoulder. "Do you want to practice it some more or do engorgio and reducio, or rictusempra?" she asked. She was enjoying this Charms lesson a good deal, so much that she didn't really mind which one they tried next.

Concentrating hard, she spoke the incantation. She looked at the gryffindor, hoping that she was sucessful. "Did it work?" she asked, biting her lower lip.

Unregistered	August's laughter stopped suddenly and she allowed herself to take in a good, deep breath. She puffed somewhat for a moment before looking up at her savior. "Thanks for that," she grinned and pushed herself to her feet. "Let's try the Engorgement and Reduction Charms now." August walked over to the desks where other students toothbrushes lay still. She pointed her wand carefully at a blue brush, holding her wand close to the item to be sure she didn't miss. "Engorgio!" The brush swelled to a larger size but didn't stop! It kept growing and growing until it was the size of a person and the desk it was sitting on collapsed into twigs. August looked sheepishly around, "Oops. Sorry."

She turned to a brush on one of the tables, picking it up and placing it on the floor in front of her. She pointed her wand at it, and made a stabbing motion, saying, "Engorgio!" The brush's handle grew a little longer, but otherwise didn't grow. "Shoot... you want to give it a try?" she asked.

After what the Gryffindor girl had just done he wasn't in a hurry to copy. He jabbed his wand a few times getting the motion down before he spoke the spell. After a few attempts he felt he was ok with the spell, "Engorgio." The toothbrush grew in size but only very slightly. Now it just looked like he had started with a bigger toothbrush than the others. Still, he wasn't too disheartened as the others appeared to be having trouble as well.

She pointed her wand, made the stabbing motion, and repeated the incantation, and this time it grew to the size she had imagined. She clapped her hands in delight, then tried the Reducio charm, and got it after a few tries.

Unregistered	OOC: It's Reducio. Reducto would blow the thing up. Also I'm going out to dinner so I'm going to have to go sorry. BIC: August felt like an idiot for destroying the desk but she repaired it with a wave of her wand, "Reparo." The desk reassembled itself and stood there looking as it did before her intervention. She looked at her toothbrush again and wondered what she did wrong. Too powerful. Maybe concentrating too hard on the growth. She pointed her wand at the toothbrush and focused confidently, yet casually, on what she wanted to happen. She jabbed her wand at spoke, "Engorgio," whereby the toothbrush grew to a good size, not too big, not too small. She smiled proudly at her handiwork. She looked to the Professor, "We've done all the Charms, sir. Are they good enough?"

Second Year Posts: 179 Group: Hufflepuff Member #136 Joined: May 19 2007	He tried the Engorgement Charm again and after six attempt he achieved success. A smile crossed his face as he attempted the Reduction Charm and got it in one attempt. His eyes lit up. He was getting better at using his wand which was great. He knew the theory it was just putting it into practice where he was having the trouble. He heard the Gryffindor girls words and hoped that they could escape to go to lunch.
