Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Momentarily forgetting John Mac turned to Tristan "That is Petrificus Totalus" Mac said before turning to the frozen John. "Finite Incantatum" Mac said pointing his wand at the frozen John. "What did you think?" Mac said looking again at Tristan.

John remained on the ground even though he knew the body bind had been released. He breathed and slowly opened his eyes and got up off the floor to which he was amazed to find himself on in the first place he must have fallen over due to the force of the spell. John wished he could see it being done on someone else but by the looks of it it seemed he would have to wait till next class when they would be doing it then.

Kidnapped!

Tristan had a huge grin painted across his face as he watched the Professor perform the charm. John appeared fine but was totally unable to move.

"That's awesome! Totally awesome." He was totally impressed with the spell but a thought occurred to him, though he was reluctant to ask.

"Professor? Why do people say charms aren't as good? Clearly they are!"

"Well, I clearly have a biased view on that issue and would say that anyone that thinks that is very foolish. However, people feel that Charms is simply weak and they do not give it a real chance. People tend to go for Transfiguration as it often requires more concentration. However, most of your famous and powerful wizard and witches have learnt charms. For example, one of the greatest Head masters Hogwarts has ever had Albus Dumbledore was an expert at Charms. Very talented indeed. Was a charms teacher himself before becoming Head Master. One of the brightest wizards of his time" Mac remembered.

OOC: Slight change to history there :)

BIC: He nodded, fascinated by it all. "Well I can't wait for next lesson to learn that spell. Very cool indeed."

ooc: Lets just pretend Nat was here the whole time to avoid yucky logistics. And we'll say she was momentarily unconcious during all the stuff with Julian.

Natalie had accomplished the charm successfully almost right away, but regreted it later. She wished she'd screwed it up so the professor would come sit on HER desk.

Bored, she preformed the "wingardium leviosa" spell of John's desk across the room. She raised it up a few inches and moved it gradually farthur and farthur away from him.

John saw he desk floating slowly away from him and saw it was coming from Nat's direction. John chased his chair then sat on it but he soon found that the chair floated supporting his weight.

"Ms. McIntire, it is good to see you have a firm grip on the floating charm but if I asked nicely would you please let Mr. Holland down to normal?" MAc said smiling at Nat.

"Yeah let me down" John said beginning to get a bit worried of the height he was floating to. The desk was very unsteady but so far John had managed to keep his balance.

Nat broke the spell and John and his desk cam crashing to the ground.

She gave the profesor her most charming smile and said, "Surely such good magic deserves a house point or two professor?"

"Nice try, your going to have to earn your house points just like the rest of your class mates. Besides, I'm the only one allowed to terrorise the students in this class room. Which Reminds me are you related to an Evan McIntire?" Mac said

John stepped shakily off his desk, in a position in which he usually said thanks he stared at Nat. "When we do the petrificus totalus curse can I partner Nat, Professor?" John said smiling at Nat.

OOC: I would be more ready to answer this question if I knew who Evan McIntire was...

Nat shook her head and said, "I'm related to a Caitlin McIntire, that's my sister- she's a thrid year."

After a moment or two she said, "Actually I think I might have a cousin named Evan. Or maybe he's Ewan. I have so many cousins I honestly can't remember them all. Does the one you're talking about have dark hair? Is he about 20 now?"

OOC: Check the quidditch list players Nat, Mr. Johnson has added in a keeper in your family name.

"Perhaps, Mr. Holland but I'm sure Nat may want to go first in that case and from what I've seen with that display of the Wingerdium Leviosa charm she is very capable at Charms, much like yourself and Mr. Nightshade over here" Mac said with an endeering smile.

"Evan McIntire, plays quidditch for the Catapults, they are my team. He played very well this round. We won 400 to 110. Very good match" Mac said.

OOC:... Um, pretend I was sitting in the back, dazed and confused and not paying attention for some strange reason. Interruptions are annoying.

Eli noted with glee that she'd managed to lock the door correctly on her third attempt. It was probably the quickest she'd been able to do any bit of magic thus far this year. However, when she attempted the alohamora spell, her results weren't quite as successful. The door remained sealed shut, and she frowned at it angrily.

"Don't let it get you down, Ms. Bryan keep trying your Colloportus was very good you just have to concentrate and then flick your wrist and the lock saying 'Aloha Mora' and it should work, if not keep trying. You'll get it eventually" Mac said.

Liam Reynolds

Liam completed the spells fairly easily. The unlocking charm seemed trickier to him, and he'd only managed it the second time around. The idea of not doing the spell perfectly was frustrating, and he glanced around wildly, hoping no one else had seen his blunder. He had a reputation of magical perfection to maintain.

"Very good Mr. Reynolds, 'atta boy. Just keep at it and you'll get it, comes to different people at different times. Remember to announciate your words" Mac said

"No Ms. McIntire, unfortunatly you will be awarded points for doing things that make you famous not your relatives" Mac said playing off Nat's playfull attempts to score points.

Geneviéve entered the Charms classroom, glancing at the board before sitting in a seat near the door. She whipped out her notebook and wrote the notes on the board down in a combination of French and English shorthand, then decided it would be amusing to make her notebook hover in the air.

She imagined the notebook floating a few inches off of her desk, then said, "Wingardium leviosa," using the appropriate wrist movements to carry out the charm. The notebook hopped a few times before hovering about a foot off the desk. She controlled it with her wand, moving it from side to side, up and down, just playing with it.
