Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? He would love nothing more than to explode with laughter and joy but knew that that mightn't look to good for the Professor. Oh Julian! Thankyou for that! You made my day! Shaking his head with a small smile on his face he quietly thanked Mac for doing to Julian what he had been dying for the opportunity to do since he met him: humiliate him publicly. He only wished more of the class had been there to see it.

"The thing about this spell that is different to Wingardium Leviosa is there is obviously the different incantation and effect. There is also a proper wrist movement. Your hand should not shift but your wrist must go straight down" Mac said making a slashing motion with his wand. "If you do not do it correctly the spell may work but will often be weaker then the full desired effect of the spell. This is especially important in the Colloportus charm. Mr. Nightshade, would you like to attempt the spell?" Asked Mac.

He pointed his wand at the small door in front of him and copied the Professor's wrist movement, saying "Colloportus." He heard the unusual sound that he had when Julian attempted the spell and waited to see if he was successful.

"If you want you can either keep practising this, you can practise the wingardium leviosa charm or I can get you ahead of your class mates. No matter what you will be taught on Exam syllybus. Which by the way are approaching but surely your teachers will have told you that by now" Mac said looking around the class room.

Tristan was a true Ravenclaw; his thirst for knowledge was near unquenchable. He was a normal enough person but when it came to class, he was quite a different person.

Mac turned to John. Mac bumped the door and it didn't move. "Take 5 points Mr. Holland" said Mac before turning back to Tristan. "Now, there is a rumor going around the staff room that you are an avid dueler and aspire to become like Jocelyn Davis? Is that correct?" Mac said.

He didn't really know who the person was but assumed that the person was a famous Dueler. Keen to here more about famous witches and wizards he leaned forward.

I believe one of the spells he used was "Perticus Furnerculosus" against his opponent in the final. That is actually an adaptation of "Petrificus Totalus" which is a paralysing charm which we will be doing in our next lesson" Mac said telling Tristan.

The commentator at the match had been yelling out the names of the various charms, hexes and curses the two had been using and the name sounded vaguely familiar. But Joscelyn had done so many spells it was hard to remember any specifically.

A lot of people are mistaken at thinking the majority of his attacks are Transfiguration and Defensive magic. Many are surprised to here that many of his spells are actually modified charms to suit him in duelling situations. My advice to your possible duelling career is to follow his footsteps and continue with your aptitude on Charms. Your at a level where if you continued in you later years I'm sure you will be able to competently preform Non-verbal spells but also have the aptitude to create your own charms and attacks. This would greatly aid you in your duelling career" Mac said. "Our next lesson we will be learning Petrificus Totalus"

The fact that he thought he would be good enough some day made him feel on top of the world, particularly after he was already feeling great after Julian's demise. "They're charms are they? My Dad told me it was other stuff, but I'm more inclined to believe you. You'd know after all." He laughed at his little joke. His eyes shined brightly as he pictured himself in a dueling arena casting amazing and powerful spells at a bewildered opponent, the umpire holding up his arm in triumph. "Petrificus Totalus," he breathed. "What's it do exactly?"

Don't mention that I might get into trouble. It seems as the classroom has become Slytherin less as well. I noticed out of the corner of my eye his friend had snuck out of class. Mr. Holland if you could step up I'll line some pillows behind you and we'll see how you go with that" Mac said. "The Petrificus Totalus charm snaps the arms and legs by the persons side and is a full body bind charm. while the person can see and think they cannot move their limbs or mouth to talk. A basic spell wears off after a while but a strong one could take a while" Mac said taking pillows from a box and scattering them on the ground.

There was a lump of cold terror in his throat and hoped nothing would go wrong with the spell. John shut his eyes as tight as he could and waited for the spell.

He attempted to stick his arms out to break the fall but his arms had snapped to his sides and his legs snapped together as well and his jaw felt wired shut. He hit the cushions softly and felt fine.
