Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit. Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control? The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make? Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? TBA Posts: 531 Group: External Citizen Member #29 Joined: Jan 9 2007	Mac entered the classroom Mac wrote on the board, Concentration is necessary for Charms Underneath he wrote Last lesson we did the charm, "Wingardium Leviosa" the floating charm. It is similar to two other spells, the first "Locomotor" followed by the name of an object is a hover charm and makes the object hover above the ground. The second is more complex and is "accio" spell which makes the object come to you. However, while accio and locomotor spells both make objects fly "Wingardium Leviosa" is the only floating charm in existance. The wand movement for "Wingardium Leviosa" is the swish and flick wrist movement. Today we will be focussing on "Aloha Mora" and it's Counter charm "Colloportus". "Aloha Mora" is the charm used to open simple locks. Such as some doors. "Colloportus" locks the door, often used to keep unfriendly visitors and people looking to gain entry into your house. The magic is simple but very weak and often older wizards prefer to use more powerful types of protective magic. Such as the Fidelius Charm and the Unplottable charm as well as various other charms used on Hogwarts which makes it impossible to find apart from those who are known visitors. Your task is to lock and unlock the door infront of you with the "Aloha Mora" and the "Colloportus" charms. Good luck. He stuck his tongue out and concentrated hard on taking down all the notes.

He had sat next to John in the previous class but figured they would both prefer certain females to occupy the seats next to them instead. He took out a pice of blank parchment and began to copy the notes. When it came to notes, Tristan was incredibly fastidious. His handwriting was fairly neat and he couldn't help himself; he just had to take perfect notes. He had also packed with him an accordian style folder divided into subject area where he kept every set of notes for future reference - he was like that. After copying down the notes he looked up at Professor McDonald and waited for him to speak.

Jake groaned as if hewas going to copy the notes as a favour to the professor. Julian had left before Jake yet somehow he wasn't in the classroom. Jake didn't seem to fussed, if Julian had wanted his company then he would have told him to come. Jake sat far away from the other two boys and pretended to look as if he was copying notes off the board.

Sixth Year Posts: 1,113 Group: Slytherin Member #135 Joined: May 8 2007	Julian sauntered into Charms and took a seat on the left side of the class. He glanced at the board and sighed as he saw notes on the board. What the hell is it with teacher's and notes? He copied them down and once finished lent back in his seat bored already. Still, though he found class tedious, his experience the previous day where he had been trumped for not knowing much magic made him determined to rectify the situation. His father also was a major influence in that respect. He was an extremely talented wizard and was certain Julian would be as well. He respected his father considerably so was keen to make him and his family proud. Julian knew he was talented but just didn't have the magical learning yet. After all, his family was as pure as they come so he must be powerful. He had found Transfiguration to be quite easy and had performed the spell without much trouble at all. He was certain that once he established himself with learning magic, he would soon be top in the year. He had the intelligence, the power, and the patience.

"Where did you go?" Jake whispered so the professor wouldn't hear that they were talking. Was it his imagination or was the professor starring at him?

Jake knew certain things, such as when to talk, when to lie, when to curse, when to tell the truth but most importantly it was when to shut his trap to save his skin. Jake knew this is one of the things he was best at.

Bored waiting for the Professor to begin, he saw there was a small, wooden door on his desk in front of him to practice on. The door was about the size of a piece of parchment. He pointed his wand lazily at the little door and said, "Colloportus." The door glowed slightly and issued an odd squelching sound but no visible change occurred. He tried to doorknob and found the door locked as if by a regular key. He sneered at the easiness of the spell and muttered the counter charm, "Alohamora," and the door again glowed and spouted a clicking noise as the lock opened. Not that he needed to, Julian checked the knob just to be sure and to no surprise the door opened easily. He slammed the little door shut and sat back in his chair, staring around the classroom aimlessly. Christ! Let's do something a little challenging!

Mac got the classes attention. "If a door has been correctly locked the door will stay locked unless magic is used to open it" Mac said checking the boys door. "Doors can often appear locked when they aren't" Mac says with his eyes roaming the class. He shifted the boys door to the front of the class and put it on the edge of his desk. Mac bumped the door while twisting the knob as the door fell inwards. "Try again, you must try harder. You will get it though, eventually. Be patient" Mac said re-assuring the Slytherin boy.

Though he gave off the calm, all knowing exterior of a Professor Julian knew he took exceeding pleasure in embarassing him in front of the class. "Perhaps if I had some proper guidance I might be able to cast the spell properly. Pardon me, but a few notes on the board isn't really enough to make me an expert." He knew his anger was getting the better of him but he couldn't stop, "In fact, I think my spell was properly done, you've just got a few extra pounds around the middle that possess their own magical qualities to smash the door in. If I weighed that much I could probably break down the Headmistresses own door."

He actually found what Julian had said funny but what he loved even more is he knew Julian would be in detention for a week after saying what he did.

Though he was arrogant he saw that as a good trait, not that he said this aloud. "What I said was I can't be an expert because of the lack of tuition from you. A few notes and that's you done." He had to prove to the Professor that he could do it! Recalling what the Transfiguration Professor had said he visualized the door locking, he even imagined the squelching sound he knew happened. Every detail of the door locking entered his mind as he concentrated on his task. He spoke the spell loudly and clearly, "Colloportus!" He heard the squelching sound and it glowed once more but he would find out whether he was successful or not.

Concentrating all he could he twisted the door knob and banged the door with his shoulder at the same time he felt something rush passed him. The door opened with ease. John was very pleased with himself. He went back to his seat laughing.

The door as Mac had suspected flew open with ease. "Perhaps if you listened and were more patient you would be an apt student. I'll take 10 points off Slytherin house and a weeks worth of detentions for your cheek boy. I'd watch my mouth if I was you or I'll give you detentions for the rest of the year if not the rest of your schooling" Mac said with no real anger in his voice. He had gotten revenge on the little Brat as simple as that. "Good try though" Mac said not bothering to hide the smart alecness in his voice.

He was seeing spots with rage at the Professor and how he was being treated. He was a pure blood damn it! How dare he be treated with such injustice! He sat down wishing horrible pain and tortures upon the Professor. I'll show you! he vowed. I'll show you I can do any magic I want! Any!

Mac took some parchement and scribbled a note. Please excuse this boy from being outside of class. He is just calming down Edgar MacDonald He handed the note to Julian. "Take your anger outside, if any teacher asks why you are out of class give them that note and you shouldn't get into to much trouble" Mac said and opened the door for the boy.
