Read Today's Daily Prophet: Knights of Walpurgis attack Hogwarts; Belleford steps down as Hogwarts closes until further notice
Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Dark Wizard on Loose: Ministry in Muddle

Famous wizard, Ellamin Shieldheart, has escaped from Azkaban prison late last week when his fellow prisoners were asleep. Dementors did not recognise Ellamin, who was in Azkaban for the brutal murders of three muggles around London. He was caught after attacking a muggle in the sight of a wizard who immediately recognised Ellamin and promptly stunned him. Ellamin was brought before the full Wizengamot court and tried before being sentenced to life in Azkaban. Ellamin has reportedly been spotted in Somerset by a wizard who claims to have seen him flying on a Hippogriff, "I saw the boy. He flew past at night, was making an awful lot of noise too. Almost woke the whole neighbourhood. Flew past on a Hippogriff. Never seen anything stranger" said Augustus Granger, aged 76.

Ministry to Rekindle Ties with Lichtenstein

The Ministry of Magic is set to reopen ties with the Ministry of European nation Lichtenstein, according to a Ministry spokeswizard. This comes as the Department of International Magical Cooperation seeks to improve ties with all wizarding ministries in an attempt to safeguard against dark wizards that may arise.
As most are aware the Ministry of Lichtenstein chose not to enter the International Confederation of Wizards some several hundred years ago at its inception. This was due to disagreements over troll hunting, with the first Supreme Mugwump, Pierre Bonaccord, wanting to grant trolls rights but Lichtenstein having difficulties with troll tribes within their national borders. Since this time Lichtenstein has not joined the Confederation but rather remained isolated and managed their own affairs without the Confederation's help.
The Ministry of Magic is seeking to reopen ties with Lichtenstein and eventually seek to invite them to join the Confederation to unify the wizarding communities of Britain and all of Europe.
The Ministry spokeswizard was quote as saying, "We hope to bring Lichtenstein into the ICW so as to help them better safeguard our world from exposure. That and they have so many dark wizards it's better to have them with us and not against us. Wait, can you not print that last part?"

Greensword: Better than the Firebolt?

The Cleansweep Broomstick company have recently released their latest Quidditch broomstick; The Cleansweep Greensword. Questions have already been posed about the new features of the broom and what it is like compared to the Firebolt, the previous top broomstick

On a first ride the broom stick looks and feels great and the handling and turning facilities are fantastic. Unlike the Firebolt though, it only goes nought to 100 in 9 seconds but after the acceleration it can match and even surpass the firebolt depending on the quality of the rider. The safety features including a fast brake, anti-bucking charm and jinx repelling charm, making the safety features of the greensword second to none. Still a very high price until it is released to the public, though definitely worth looking at.

It can be found in the display case of any good quidditch supplies store and is likely to feature prominently in the next Quidditch World Cup. Underdogs Australia have reshaped their team in order to present a fresh threat to the competition and ordered a set for the campaign which is to be played in America.

Price on Request.

Tornadoes big winners but Cannons fire

The Tutshill Tornadoes have started off their championship campaign off with a flying start, beating the Appleby Arrows 320 – 130 to put them to the top of the table, a position they have become comfortable with over the past few years. The Tornadoes have won a great majority of their games, making them a popular team world wide.

However, it is the Chuddley Cannons who caused the biggest upset in Round One, beating the Kestrals and scoring a huge 630 – 260 win. A great performance by Romanian imported chaser Vladamir Putinsky who scored 27 of the 48 goals including 8 penalties, in what looks to be a huge comeback to their form of old. The Cannons famous for having changed their motto to "lets cross our finger and hope for the best" after a barron run in the league in which they had a mammoth dry spell in which no titles were won. Perhaps this year is the year the Cannons can knock off reigning title holders the Tutshill Tornadoes who are short odds to win another cup.

In other results, Harpies beat the Wasps 220 – 110, Magpies defeated Pride of Portree 350 – 200, Wanderers downed the Catapults 380 – 230, the Banglers overwhelmed the Bats 460 – 310 and finally the Falcons pipped Puddlemore United 430 – 410.
