Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

Posts: 2,756 Group: Ravenclaw Member #114 Joined: Mar 9 2007	Hey everyone, Now I know I'm a newer member compared to some of the more veteran characters on this site but I've taken to this RP with surprising enthusiasm and don't want to see this site go under. I've looked at some other Harry RP sites and none appeal to me like this one. We need to come up with some concrete ideas on how to save/fix this site. Firstly, besides being stuck in class for the last week or two, what made people stop posting? Is everyone still checking the site regularly for updates etc. I know I check it as often as I check my email or myspace so a few times a day at least. What made people stop posting? Knowing this we can start to fix the problem. Also, would people prefer free reign like at the moment where there are fights breaking out every few minutes and using spells that are inapprorpiate for first years, or would you prefer stricter control on story and spells? Maybe a basic story or an overall plotline so characters can play into that. Maybe even one that is altered every few days. Pictures a kids cartoon show called Hogwarts; every episode has a different basic plotline. That's what I mean here, obviously not a tv show but the same idea. Maybe that's something to consider trialling......actually I quite like that idea. Hehe. Also I feel the Professors need to be more active and so should be given to people who are certain they can provide the time required to play them properly and take a more active role in class. Not saying I want a teaching job but I do have time to put the effort in should it need to be. And if asked I'd happily do it. I can't think of anything else at the moment but its pretty important we get some ideas for MA to start looking at implementing. Main suggestion MA: END POTIONS lol Reply with ideas and suggestions, please think your suggestions through and put some thought/effort in as to how they can be implemented.

Second Year Posts: 238 Group: Gryffindor Member #49 Joined: Jan 31 2007	I stopped posting for two reasons - 1) I had nothing else to post in potions, and 2) We can't post our own threads, so there was nowhere else to rp. I think the problem is, teachers are not active enough. We were doing really well there for a few days, then everyone disappeared. Frankly, the activity has been spotty, on and off, and I needed somewhere with more stability, so I found another site. I'm still here, I still check in every day, but if people take on roles they can't comitt to, it falls apart. I'm not trying to criticize anyone in particular. We all, as a whole, need to do what we committed to.

All threads can still be policed and deleted by MA if they are out of control but that way people can make their own threads in their own time. Cool. Anything else?

Second Year Posts: 186 Group: Gryffindor Member #17 Joined: Jan 4 2007	I was fine on the DADA lesson, because I was here for most of the class, and on the next day if need be. Teachers atm come and go once a week it seems, so if they want to teach, they should be here more. (this is all Owen i mean lol) Also like others said, a message telling when classes are starting is a good idea.

There was no further input from the teacher and I think everyone was kinda scared to act up in case the professor suddenly reappeared and went nuts. I know I wanted to exit the room ages ago to try rp in another room but never did in case I got Ravenclaw in trouble lol. Also I figured if I left everyone would still be in class anyways.

I am personally really sad that this site is going down I love it alot and for a while I was the most active member by far. I haven't been on for the past two weeks or so because my show just went up and I was in rehearsal seven days a week until midnight every night. But now thats over so I should be more active. I think everyone's suggestions are great. I think everyone should be able to open threads. secondly, to make sure we always have people on, I think we should market our site more. I found it on imdb under the HP movie threads so maybe we could advertise there, or in the CoS forums on Mugglenet etc.. Plus, I think we should email members who used to be quite active but aren't anymore and see if they are still interested in the site (people like Wendy, Gary, Addie, Jordanna)

There are going to be periods where people arent able to get on for a week or however long but as long as people are posting, people who check the site regularly are going to still post. I think alot of ppl died is because potions just stopped all of a sudden. People would check and see very little to respond to and so didnt. But with myself, Natalie, Sam, Eliana, James/John, still expressing sincere interest, RP from 4 peopl,e is definitely enought o show the site sis till active. And like Natalie said we should email the others who used to be fairly active and let them know the site has been altered somewhat and it is still up and running. Suggestion worth considering: - Mini plot lines every so often - Characters able to post in any area they want, obviously not common rooms etc but in areas they arent allowed adds excitement to it, students can be caught and punished if caught there. Other rp sites do allow this as a means to add an interesting aspect to posting where you shouldnt be - Advance notification of classes - Professors must be active users to have a greater presence in class - Email members and remind them of the site, invite them back, inform of changes etc I think these few alone would be enough to stir activity once again. So MA what are your plans for the site? What have u got in mind? What are you looking to tweak/change? I think we're all curious to know. Because none of us want to see this die. PS: Natalie wb, I was wandering why you hadnt shown up lately.

Second Year Posts: 75 Group: Gryffindor Member #115 Joined: Mar 9 2007	my problem is i go on when no one else is (because of time difference) and can only post once obviously because no one is replying i feel the lessons are restricting it takes like a week for one lesson especially when the teachers are active so little. i also think all these fights and advanced spells as you mentioned should be minimal from now on. i think simple plot lines is the way to go.

But its something that nothing can really be done about except try and recruit more people from your timezone. Hehe I'd love a few more AUssies but Im lucky in that I'm online a variety of times through the day so I still encounter different people. I really like the idea of mini plotlines. I'll think of an example............ OK how about this: There's a new student/teacher/charcater of some sort shows up and everyone is really taken with them but they in fact have a hidden agenda that must be found out. They are in fact here to commit some wrong deed and people have to not only start to suspect the person but then catch them out and remove them in soe fashion. Very TV show I know but it lends itself to alot of RP where not everyone has to be online at the same time and makes it a little interesting as one of the regulars can play the 'new person', and they can deliberately go into empty rooms, do evil stuff, then bail and try and not be caught. Yet obviously we cna read what that person is doing but have to try and make it so our characters encounter that behaviour and try to catch them out and then we have to remove them somehow. Just an idea, I thought of this in like 20 seconds. Another: There's a ball or dance or something on and the preparation and asking partners etc makes for some OK rp. Just throwing ideas out people. Anyways what do you think?
