Welcome to Hogwarts Interactive Role Play, one of the net's best in Harry Potter and Hogwarts role plays. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Here at Hogwarts our students are currently in their Seventh Year. Last year, the war against the Knights crescendoed into a direct attack against the school. Disappearances are still reported (or not) daily, and the Dark Lord and his Knights of Walpurgis have succeeded in spreading their message of "do as thou will" far and wide across the globe. Magical Law Enforcement, which is now the only authority in the wizarding world under Martial Law, has responded by tightening security, controlling the media, and strictly enforcing curfews and other laws. Their control is damaging to the people's freedom, and their hierarchy is a suspicious lot. It is clear that some members of the MLE like their new found power a bit too much, others see it necessary, but all are in serious danger of being consumed by it. But with the picture of just what Azariah Amaranth is after becoming ever clearer, and a third player in the form of a group called SAVIOR entering the scene, what will the MLE do next to ensure that they've got the situation under control?

The Elementium, the Higher Plane that had once been hidden just beyond the veil in the Department of Mysteries, and the Deathly Hallows. The pieces of the puzzle have been identified, but what picture do they make?

Today is Day 1 of Year Seven. Students have had time to recover from the Knight's attack, and are beginning to reluctantly return to the walls of Hogwarts. The safety of the school has been diminished, bringing up the question everyone must ask. Are you safe anywhere these days? It's up to each individual to decide their fate, where will you decide to go?

If we become a teacher what way will the lessons work?I read that only one lesson will be taking place at once but how will that work? Also will it be difficult to have lessons if people are from different countries you know because of the time zones?

Thanks

I will try to take it upon myself to create a timetable for lessons, say, maybe weekly, or biweekly. The way I am thinking that lessons will work is that I will give everyone a heads up when a lesson will be taking place, and the thread will be started at the given date and time. Then, for say, a day or two, depending on member activity, the professor will have plenty of time to create their lesson and interact with students, and also giving students a chance to all interact in the same place. When I plan lessons (hopefully at least a week ahead), I will set up a sign up thread where members will say if and when they will be able to make it. That way, we will have a good idea who to expect, and I can set up a timeframe for the class so that everyone will have a chance to post, regardless of their timezone.

I think this way should work, but if anyone has any better ideas, I'm all ears to hearing them.

whats the punishment for skipping classes and spending the time with friends in the common room or in the grounds? :P

Not saying I'm going to be doing that be just in case. Lol

Also wondering if teachers give homework and such. I hate homework. Lol.

Are the lessons going to be fixed or can they go on for however long they want to go for?

I will most likely set a time limit on lessons, say, a day or so, depending on activity.

Another thing we can do is just have lessons impartial from everything else, with the role playing going on everywhere else, but also in the classrooms at the same time.

No I like the Idea that 1st year Gryffyndors have D.A.D.A at such and such time on such and such day while the Slytherins are doing potions homework in their common room. Gives more of a Hogwarts feel to the place.

You still haven't answered my punishment question though. Lol

Oh, you're actually suggesting that the individual houses get lessons at different times? I would, if we had enough people in each house, but I feel that teachers having to repeat the same lessons over and over 4 times (or twice for double classes) would be a little boring.

As for punishment... I'm not sure, to be honest. I guess I'm just trusting that everyone's going to post in the classroom threads when they are going on, and no where else. :P

Nah, Maybe two houses together. I mean they can do the same lessons or whatever. I mean if the site grows and we get people moving into second year you should have all classes by year level and stuff. Yeah 2 houses a class would be awesome even to start with.

Whats going on with house points? are the houses going to start with certain amounts? How can house points get deducted and such?

If the site does grow enough, then yes, we will have to split classes up by year.

As for house points, each house will post likely start out at 0. Points can be awarded or deducted by teachers, so make sure to participate in class and not be boisterous in the halls (at least, not when the teachers are looking :D).

Wouldn't a real Hogwarts teacher? Snape, for example? I will make sure the teachers don't go crazy, though. :D

okay, as long as there is some moderation of points. I mean Snape is one thing but he won't ruin the house cup be always adding points to his house for a student sitting in class while taking points simultaneously taking off points from other houses.
