We've been talking for a long time about possibly starting a Vlog for HIRP, so you guys get to know us and what's going on around the site. To get that started, here I am, telling you about myself and what I love about HIRP:

As you may have noticed, some characters have lost their status of an admin. However, if you're still interested in being one, are actually willing to contribute and plan on being active, just post here and let us know. A thread for the people loyal to HIRP and who want to see some activity restored.

I guess we all know that we need to pull some new members, get things going and generally increase people's interest in this site. So I'm here asking what you think we should do.

I think it would be prudent to fix the plot. The main players of which have either grown uninterested or vanished into thin air. It wouldn't be fair to them to completely destroy all the hard work (five years worth) by completely changing things up. But if we keep things going as they are we are in for a very anti-climatic finish. So, I'm thinking a revolt within the KoW, something to throw the Dark Lord off his game (and preferably out of the running) and bring something interesting to the site. Or just, anything. I've been on this site that has 'events' every week or so that gives people something new to do with their characters. (This would have to be changed slightly as HIRP has a timeline...)

This thread is open to any and all ideas on what we could do to pull in activity and interest.

I'm not interested in excuses or anything else, if you have an idea and you're willing to put in the time to follow through with it then let's DO this!

Staff vs Student Quidditch

As promised, here is your schedule for Year Seven! Please refer to it often to keep up to date on what's coming up next!















Also, where you see a TBA on the schedule (The Morning Activities of Day 7, and the Lunch and Free time of Day 3), means that we are planning some sort of either game or some other fun thing for your characters to partake in as a part of their final year at Hogwarts. Now, this should be common knowledge by now, but just like Hogsmeade visits, your character doesn't have to participate if you don't want to. It's just a little extra to keep you entertained.

Drum roll, please. Ladies and gentlefolk, the year you have all been waiting for has arrived: Year Seven! This year, like years past at HIRP, will be full of vital and action-packed plot excitement that will determine the fate of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and those within its walls. We cordially invite you and your characters to join in the action.

First and foremost, the announcement made by Professor McKenna at the close of sixth year states that all former sixth year students will have completed their O.W.Ls during the summer holiday before returning back to Hogwarts. This does not require any actual role-playing, only that you assume your character's scores on the exams as to interpret which classes they will be taking this year.

Before anything else, please be sure to change your user title to "Seventh Year". This can be done here.

As you well may know, Hogwarts will be receiving several new staff members this year due to the events of sixth year. Professor Stephanie McKenna will be taking over as Headmistress for Headmistress Bellford, and Bannishtar will be stepping up as Deputy Headmaster. We also welcome Professor Halcyon Hicks, Professor Daniela Castro, and Brock Baker. Professor Hicks will be the new Transfiguration professor and Ravenclaw Head of House, Professor Castro will teach Muggle Studies, and Brock Baker will take over Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Seventh Year also requires the election of two new students, one boy and girl, as Head Boy and Head Girl of Hogwarts. Headmistress McKenna has chosen Dave McKelvey and Cosette Bedeaux to fill these positions. New prefects have also been nominated. Please check the Character Roster, as it should be updated accordingly.

Year Seven, being the students' final year at Hogwarts, also contains the final and most pressing exams, N.E.W.Ts. These exams will be taken at the end of the year. Keep in mind that some professions in the wizarding world do not require N.E.W.Ts, so be aware of what your character will be doing after he or she graduates from Hogwarts. As for the curriculum, students will take the same classes as they did in sixth year. Like sixth year, these classes vary depending on post-Hogwarts plans.

Due to the events of last school year and the pressing security of the Ministry, there will be no Quidditch season in seventh year.
