Willow watched as her class filed in and took their seats. With a warm smile planted firmly on her lips, the professor greeted her students.

"Good morning! I hope that you all have been able to perfect the Reducio Charm by now because today, we shall move on to the Engorgio Charm. If you do still need help with the previous lesson, please come and see me after class so that we can make time to work together."

Reaching a hand into the left pocket of her robe, Professor Ashebrook retrieved the broom that she had shrunk in the previous lesson. "Please get your brooms and wands ready. After a brief demonstration and explanation -I hope you're all in the mood for a little history lesson- I should like for you all to practice until the bell." As she spoke, she floated the miniature broom above her desk and went to work at the blackboard.

EGORGIO, she wrote in large, white script. Following that was the definition: a charm which makes an item larger. "This charm was created by an unknown witch, as best as we can tell from history. Back in 1263, a young Abercrombie Farnsworth witnessed 'an old crone performing a magnificent spell'. Mr. Farnsworth later wrote about the charm, making sure to list every detail from the pronunciation of the charm, its effects, how long it lasts, and so forth."

Wil looked around the room as she spoke, ensuring that her class was paying attention before she approached the still floating broom and withdrew her wand. Using the same wand movements; the swish and flick from the last class, Ms. Ashebrook called out "Engorgio!" Never taking her eyes off of her broom, the teacher watched as the item grew ever larger. Once it had been restored to its original glory, she looked up at her class once more.

"Now that you've seen it done, you may begin. Do not forget to practice your pronunciation and wand movements before diving straight in. And, as always, if you need help just get my attention and I shall come to your aid." The professor waved her hands as she gave them permission to begin. Then, the woman grabbed her broom and laid it across her desk before making rounds around the room to check on the progress of her students.

~~~~~~~
As with the last class, post your actions during the lesson.
Remember! As you are all young witches and wizards, you should not be able to perform every spell correctly the first time. As such, students choosing to do so, will not receive as many points as a student who is creative with mishaps during the lesson.
For extra credit, you may add a picture of the broom that you received in Lesson 1 and will continue to work with for the remainder of the term.
As usual the first year student named Sean listened intently to every word the professor spoke. He had a dire need to learn as much as he could about the fascinating world of magic. When he had first heard about it he had imagined that the witches and wizards were a lot different that muggles but he found that they were more the same. They didn't treat him any different that the people who had called themselves his friends had done. He didn't know how he felt about that, he had hated how they had treated him but it showed that the magical community wasn't that much different and he was beginning to feel that people treated him the way they did because of him, that would be the only way to explain why everyone treated him the same.Pushing these thoughts away he focused on the lesson before everything would go spiraling down, like last time...
Once the professor had finished explaining what the lesson was about and started scrawling in white chalk on the board, Sean went to get the small broom from the lesson before. Reaching into his chest pocket he hoped that it was still there and had not fallen out. That was the problem with such tiny things, they got lost easily. He dimly wondered about the first broom that he had shrunk, it hadn't stopped at the size he wished but had continued shrinking until it was no longer see-able. Finally he pulled out the old broom and looked at it with distast. He still could not see how anyone could fly on it.
Quickly reading the board the small boy picked up his wand and stared at the broom for a few seconds, trying to focus all his energy on the wand and broom. For a second he was distracted and just stared at his wand trying to figure out how it worked, did it somehow focus and direct magical energy? It was something he was going to have to find out sometime. Getting back to the action in hand he took a deep breath before speaking the single word, "Egorgio." For a second nothing happened. Then his wand sent out a few sparks and the broom made a sound like a gunshot. Sean froze, well that can't be right, he thought to himself before looking around at the others in the class and smiling sheep-fully, going slightly pink.
Taking a deep breath he tried again, trying to not let anything distract him.
"Egorgio," he spoke again forming the word perfectly without any miss pronunciation. Immediately the broom began to grow and regain its original size. Sean sighed with relief that nothing else had happened to draw attention to himself and then realizing that he had actually done it a grin transformed his face. Now maybe he should use the spell they had learnt the previous lesson to shrink the broom and then use today's lesson to make it its normal size again. He was confident with his shrinking skills as he had been practising in the common room and now hopefully he could return the various objects back to their normal size and get out of the bad books of some of the other Hufflepuffs.
"Reducto," he recited quietly pointing his wand at the broom once more. Without any mishaps the broom shrunk. Now he had to get it back to normal size again. Rolling his shoulders backwards a few time he spoke again," Egorgio." For a few moments nothing happened but Sean's disappointment soon evaporated as the broom began to grow and regain its natural size. That spell definitely needed some work.
