It was the first of what Kyros hoped would be many cool, brisk, autumn days. He had enjoyed a simple weekend breakfast and somewhat absent-mindedly found himself walking full stride through the castle entrance. It had never occured to him before how amazing fall really was, for he always spent his autumn days daydreaming about the soon-to-come winter, the cold, the snow... Fall isn't too bad though, he thought. With the sun shining high in the sky, rather blinding, Kyros made his way down towards the lake, unaware of his true destination. Squirrels were running two and fro, birds were enjoying the cool, slight breeze and gliding around the grounds, and yet Kyros was oblivious to all the commotion surrounding him. He loved the lake. It had always been his favorite spot at Hogwarts, and Hogwarts his favorite home in the world. Gazing out upon the still, calm waters, he could not help but think that in a year or so he would finally be leaving the school where he had spent most of his adolescence. Not that it mattered, really... He, for the most part, loathed class-time, most of his fellow students, and the anticipation of graduation. For some time now, all these thoughts regarding the end of his schooling and the beginning of the rest of his life had been troubling Kyros and he did not know why. Attempting to push these ill thoughts from his head, Kyros sat upon the unusually damp grass and leaned his torso against the body of his favorite tree. Pulling several rough clumps of dirt from the ground, for lack of pebbles, he lobbed a few into the air, and with a plop, watched as they disturbed the tranquility of the vast lake. Gone... he thought as he watched the wad of dirt descend underneath the water's surface. |

For some time now weekends had become a somewhat dull time of the week for Mia, she began anticipating Monday’s with a somewhat excited anxiety, as though lessons would be a much appreciated distraction from the pathetic day-to-day antics of students, herself included. She had passed several distraught looking girls moments before breakfast they pitiful gang huddled outside the great hall, their arms wrapped around each other in a sign of comfort as one of the center girls sobbed harshly into one of her friends shoulder. It had put Mia off her food t any rate and she had promptly turned on her heel and stormed out toward the grounds, escape from the idiots this school held within its cold stone grasp. She wasn't along outside, that much was evident as various students hurried past, the occasional few banging into her or brushing past her, causing a shiver to run up her spine at the contact. She loathed these people, their pale faces staring ghost like at everyone and thing to look at them. It was like they were hollow, worthless beings inhabiting a body that had died many years before. It made her sick, it was like they saw themselves as the only suffers of the world and therefore felt the desire to inflict their pain on everyone else, a pain Mia did not want to know or feel, she had her own problems and her own feelings and they were complex enough for her shallow mind. She breathed out harshly and stopped on the top of a hill over looking the grounds, taking a moment to take it all in; her eyes settling on a dark figure in the distance and a grim smile setting itself on her face as she ducked her hands into the pockets of her thick black cloak, her long hair swished to one side and hanging loosely over the school emblem in a wasted effort of trying to hide her status from view. Mia sighed heavily, letting a puff of mist twirl upward and out of sight before nodding her decision to herself and taking the last few feet to the lake. She stopped just behind him, watching as he threw the dirt into the lake, her eyes focusing on the rings vibrating the otherwise smooth surface. "Hi." It was lame but it was all she was offering for now, she hadn't spoken to him in a long while at any rate. She did not smile at him but walked around to sit beside him, her back against the tree as well. |

Kyros first heard footsteps followed by a sudden but lonely "Hi." He knew who it was immediately by the tone of her voice. She was not one of the first people Kyros expected to see. nor talk to, but he went along with it nonetheless... cautiously. Without taking his concentration from the center of the lake, he replied "Aye. What do you want," coming off rather hostile. Though she had usually been decent to him in the past, Kyros had seen the girl act unpredictably harsh towards others and he wouldn't have that. After a moment went by in which Kyros found himself zoning out, becoming entranced by the water-surface, he pulled himself back to reality. Dusting his hands off on the side of his jeans, Kyros shot his typical questioning stare back at the girl who had yet to answer him. |

She had not expected a reaction any different to the one Kyros gave her, he was a Slytherin after all and it seemed a sort of unspoken rule amongst them to be wary of too friendly behaviour between them. That fact perhaps was a little exaggerated in Mia's mind but she was sure she too would have found it strange for him to approach her unexpectedly. However at his rather cold reply she merely shrugged and further made herself comfortable, she too stared at the water but she wasn't really seeing it. Her thoughts were off on a tyrant of its own creation and she was perfectly happy to sit her and keep her thoughts to herself but still be in the company of a person who was not likely to attack her or cry hysterically into her shoulder; both actions she despised. But she had to give him a reason and she knew perfectly well he was waiting, she could feel his questioning gaze as she sat beside him; completely ignoring him, or at least pretending to ignore him. She wasn't completely foolish, she wasn't going to let her guard down that much, she was aware enough of her surroundings. "I need a reason?" She finally sighed and let her head rest back against the tree trunk, eyes staring up at the sky and watching as the clouds blew over heard, drifting further away from Hogwarts. "I was bored, you're here; Nothing else to it." She turned to him at that point and offered a sarcastic smile. "Common room is crowded and those idiotic children drive me insane." She finally answered properly turning back to the lake and staring at the opposite bank. "Why are you out here?" |

"I was bored, you're here; Nothing else to it." she finally replied. Kyros nodded at her comment about the idiotic children infestation in their very common room. They were loud and giggly and... ugh. He was happy though, for the moment, that they were wasting away in the common room on a beautiful day such as this; meant more of the peaceful lake for himself. "Ah, I see." he answered sarcastically. "So anywhere I am, I shall soon expect the company of you?" he asked, leaning further down the tree, so that he was nearly completely lying in the grass. Staring up into the sky, Kyros saw that there were few clouds, and yet it wasn't too terribly bright out. Odd... he thought, completely ignoring Mia's inquiry. |

Mia listened to him with a small smirk, shaking her head even before he'd finished speaking. "Don't flatter yourself." She turned and brushed her hand over the grass between them before sissoring a few strands with her fingers and tearing them from the ground; making a small pile on a patch of grassless soil around the roots. She seemed fasientated by that simple action which at least showed just how bored the forth year was. "I certaintly didn't follow you down here because you are interesting enough to waste all my time on, you are just more interesting than them." She should, and she knew it too, have had more respect for a student older than herself. It was how it worked, the older students could be dismissive of the younger students and Mia was quite a bit younger than Kyros too, not that she cared much about that anyway. Years was just another way of making time seem longer and it didn't really matter how old you were. School was just for a little while, they'd be out there soon, in the real world making their own way and stumbling through something that even Hogwarts couldn't teach. She drew her legs up to her chest and rested her chin on her knee's, letting her hair fall over face and covering it from view of anyone walking toward them. That in itself was another thing to hate about this school. Everywhere you went it was like being in a damned muggle Zoo or a fish tank. Everyone knew everything about you and could judge and see you even if you couldn't see them. "You could talk you know? Make this conversation a little less awkward." |
