Jake pushed open the grand doors that lead to the Hogwarts courtyard. He had not visited the area since his first day at Hogwarts, and he was looking forward to go sit on the edge of the fountain and read his book. When he walked outside, the temperature was very soothing. Not too cold, but not too hot either. There were leaves from the surrounding plants covering the stone floor, the yellows, reds, and browns giving the courtyard a warm atmosphere. As he sat down on the marble edge of the fountain, he could feel the bewitched warmth of the water encase his body. The steam was rising from the leaf-covered water. He pulled out his book and began to read as students walked by. Edited by Jake Wester, Oct 2 2008, 06:53 AM.

Kit shivered as a sudden cold breeze blew across the courtyard, bringing with it a shower of leaves shed by the Forbidden Forest. Somehow, those leaves seemed to bring with them a different aura than the feeling of the bright, welcoming courtyard. They told of something more complicated, a little more in depth, a little more... exciting than a simple fountain in a stone yard. Something with a little more life. Not to say that Kit didn't enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the courtyard, she just happened to be in the mood for something a little more... dangerous? A little more dangerous, Kit thought with a smirk. Too bad none of her old friends seemed ever seemed to be around. A quick look at the rest of the courtyard revealed the depressing fact that most of the students seemed to already be busy with their friends. Except one, Kit noticed, sitting by himself on the edge of the fountain. Reading. Kit grimaced. Who read on such a beautiful day? She rolled her eyes as she hopped off the ledge she had been sitting on, then strutted over to the fountain. "What in the world are you doing?" Kit asked the boy. Of course she knew he was reading, but why he would choose to do that on this particularly amazing day, she couldn't grasp. |
