Hi fitted big bore 60cc kit, new kentse carb, bike starts good then just revs out of control, need to shut of quickly, checked loads is this a sign of blown crank seals many thanks. |

It can be a sign of a leaky crank seal, but as this has happened suddenly and when you've changed the carb, it's much more likely to be something associated with that. Is the throttle stop pin too short? |

Can it be fitted the wrong way around? There is a pin in the carb body and a groove in the slide. The only other way to fit the slide is upside down! |

not upside down but turned 180 degrees , theres a curve down one side and if its put in wrong the slide stays fully open. did it myself on a Honda ss50 field bike and only way to shut it off was pull the HT lead off the spark plug... Edited by fizzy-please, Nov 7 2015, 04:36 PM.

No. The pin in the carb body and the groove in the slide means that it can not be turned 180 degrees, only upside down. |

try this... remove the carb slide and turn so that the cut away part of the slide is facing in towards the engine instead of facing outwards of the carb... the slide will not go down past the pin and when started the bike will rev its nuts off.. similar to how jdj2 is saying. |

If you do that, surely you cant fit the top on the carb!? Not to mention that the throttle stop pin wont line up with the tickover screw, nor the cable for the throttle itself! Edited by chasthor, Nov 7 2015, 05:14 PM.

Mind you, he is saying that he's fitted a kentse carb and not a Mikuni. Maybe that's the problem and maybe you can turn the slide 180 degrees on one of those.
