Hi Guys, My names Aidan, and i'm new to motorbikes in general, but have obtained an fs1 off my little brother, its sat in the shed so long if i hadnt known it was there it would almost be a barn find! :P

about me;

im 25, and live in Fort William.
i'm a welder fabricator with my own business specializing in stainless steel, tube in particular. most of what i'm doing just now is exhaust systems for a company who specialize in classic jaguars. E-types mostly.
if you fancy a peek, check out my facebook at www.facebook.com/lochaberstainless

I came across this forum searching for information regarding tuning and repair, and it certainly seems to be the place to come. I hope that eventually i'll be able to help answer questions for people rather than just asking them myself.

the bike: its an F reg fs1, in red. other than that i know very little. could be an fs1e or m or dx to be honest i have no idea whatsoever i'm afraid.

its got a 60cc piston and barrel, but i doubt its set up correctly as i'm sure my brother went through a couple pistons in the year he had it. i hope to eventually rectify that and make it a decent reliable bike, with a bit more poke than original.

my cbt is booked for a weeks time, and this will be my first bike on the road.

nice to meet you guys!

Aidan.

Right firstly welcome & my apologies for a late reply. It seems by your description that you have a late FS1 88/89 the dx was a disc brake model and the m was a restricted version of the fs1e post 1977( m was dropped soon after introduction as it was affecting sales). There are plenty a good person on this site who can help you with any inquiry MLC , mech 73 ,mark g and chasthor to name but a few . There are some great pictures of fizzies old and new on this site so take your time and have a look around. (which I am sure you have) . Once again welcome Aiden & can I just say that Fort William is a beautiful place as is most of Scotland. Regards Paul :)
