Hi guys, I'm hoping you can help me.

If I rev my fs1e above tick over speed is the exhaust supposed to emit a fine spray of black oil? If I hold a paper towel over the exhaust and give the bike a good rev I get a dot, about the size of a ten pence piece, of oil on the paper - that's just with one 10 second rev!!!

I took the baffle out and the packing around it is soaked in oil!

The spark plug tends to get covered in this oil also. I usually have to take out the spark plug and clean the oil off it before the bike will start, if it's been lying for a while.

Is it supposed to do this? I expect not so do any of you know why it is doing this?

I have a brand new barrel, piston and piston rings on the bike...........if that helps any?

IS THE GEAR BOX OIL LEVEL DROPPING.IF SO COULD BE CRANK SEALS.
IF THIS OIL LEVEL DOES NOT GO DOWN COULD BE AUTO LUBE SET WRONG
PRESUME YOU HAVE AUTO LUBE AND DONT PRE MIX

In the Haynes Manual it says a wet oily plug may be caused by a badly worn engine or a malfunctioning ignition system! Hope this helps until someone comes along who knows more about engines than me!

you could take the cylinder and head off the bike and look down inside the crank. if there is gear box oil in there then its the seals or gasket or something. the gear oil should not be in the crank.
if thats ok must be excessive 2 stroke oil which does go into the crank with the fuel.
either by auto lube or pre mix.
hope this helps
mark..
think this is right, but do get a second opinion..

I had a similar problem. The autolube pump has a spring and ball bearing that seals the oil line inlet.
This was not sealing properly and oil was 'forcing' through by gravity. So it did not really cause a problem when the bike was used daily, but when it was stood for a while, it filled the crank case with oil. Disconnect the oil line inlet joint and check.
OR
If you're pre mixing, its sounds like you're putting too much oil in the mix.

No, I'm not pre-mixing I'm autolubing. I think tull could be on to something - it could be gearbox oil?

I doubt if it is the gearbox oil, more likely to be the autolube

If it was gearbox oil, I expect the level would be dropping quite quickly. There are a few potential leak paths though.

gearbox oil weeping into the crank housing via poorly sealed halves or a failed crank/disc valve seal is very common on the fizz having worked on only around 10 or so on the dyno ive found 4 of them to be burning oil so 40% is a very high percentage with problems

Would a symptom of this would be reduced performance, because crankcase compression would be low??
