Right well the good news is that my resto fs1 started after a few kicks today. But it isnt all good, because it wont carry on running :(
To start it I had to first screw the airscrew further than the 1.75 turns out. It sounds sweet and revs fine for maybe 5 or six twists of the throttle and simply dies. I've had the carb in bits and cleaned all the jets. Any advice guys?

Yes, take the fuel pipe off the fuel cock and make sure it is flowing OK. There may be cr@p in the tank etc. When you say the jets are clear, have you taken them BOTH out and made sure they are clear?

I'll try taking the hose off yeah. Andy I took both the main and pilot jets out and they seemed clear to me when I stuck em back in.

could well be points, condenser, change the spark plug as well for starters, take the baffle out of the exhaust and see if it revs okay, fuel is definatley one you have already had good advice on, good luck ;)

Sorted now fella's... running sweetly thanks :) ... All I found was the exhaust wasnt as tight as it could be at the manifold. Tightened it up fully and she kicked in :) Dunno if that was stopping the bike from running or whether it was a coincidence and maybe a bit of cack in the carb.
