I'll try that, but when I fitted it yesterday I actually scraped the paint away from where I was siting the earth. I'd be very surprised if it still was'nt getting a good earth there. :'(
If your getting no spark when the pos is touched on the frame then it has to be the earth.

Success!!! .... Well, to an extent anyway. I definately have power now as the horn works :D .. So now I'll begin sorting out the associated stuff. Thanks guys ;)

That battery earth has to be good and so does your other earths -eg your rear light relies on good metal to metal contact to earth the light fitting through the mudguard to the frame to work -as does the indicators etc etc - often powdercoat/paint/rust causes earthing problems.
there is usually an earthing tag wire within the headlight that the loom uses that also has to be making a good contact as well.

The earth in the headlamp, Is it connected to an insulated spade with twin black wires? .. Seems to be the only likely candidate I can find :unsure:

The earth from the headlamp connects to a female double socket on the earth link lead which has an eyelet on the other end to fix to the headlamp bowl fixing bolt :X

Right, well I've found one bit, now all I need to get hold of is an earth link lead which has an eyelet on the other end to fix to the headlamp bowl fixing bolt :D
