If your getting no spark when the pos is touched on the frame then it has to be the earth. |

That battery earth has to be good and so does your other earths -eg your rear light relies on good metal to metal contact to earth the light fitting through the mudguard to the frame to work -as does the indicators etc etc - often powdercoat/paint/rust causes earthing problems. there is usually an earthing tag wire within the headlight that the loom uses that also has to be making a good contact as well. The earth in the headlamp, Is it connected to an insulated spade with twin black wires? .. Seems to be the only likely candidate I can find

The earth from the headlamp connects to a female double socket on the earth link lead which has an eyelet on the other end to fix to the headlamp bowl fixing bolt You learning fast

Right, well I've found one bit, now all I need to get hold of is an earth link lead which has an eyelet on the other end to fix to the headlamp bowl fixing bolt

Not yet mate. I 'm resisting the temptation. I really want to sort out the electrical issue's before attempting to start her up. |
