Hello from across the Atlantic... I'm an American moped enthusiast and my garage is missing one bike in particular. The venerable fizzie. There are very few of them in the states (imported by private citizens) so my buying one of the street is pretty much impossible so I've decided to take a different approach. Yamaha did bring in some bikes with the same motor ( G5, Campus 50, etc...) and even better is the G7-s which is the exact same frame, wheels and parts (besides the motor). So my plan is to pick up a 50cc motor and a G7 so that I can marry the two and have my own FS1-E. The one piece of the puzzle that won't be an easy thing to find is the pedal mechanism. None of these bikes have that...and yes I insist that mine will. Florida DMV law makes it extremely difficult to register a mutt (bunch of parts thrown together) motorcycle. However, the presence of pedal power (moped) negates all these issues...I don't even need a title. So please help a fellow out...If anyone has these pieces or knowledge on where to find them let me know. Also since I haven't actually seen one up close is the pedal operation built in (like an Italian Garelli or Morini) or is it separate like Puch Maxi? Many thanks!!! Here's a pic of the g7... |

The problem just isnt the pedal mechanism, the swingarm is different, having a Castellation on one end of the tube for the R/H pedal to lock into, the L/H outer cover is different and most significantly the output shaft (where the front sprocket goes onto) is a different size and length The easier way is to get a fellow over here to box up a bike and send it over to you! Yeah it would be easier...but way more expensive. I tried to have a Kreidler RMC shipped from the UK. Bringing it over would have cost more than the asking price. Since you said that it goes through the swingarm I'm guessing that means that it's a pedal separate system...correct? |

never mind...I just re-read it and you state that the swingarm has some sort of locking mechanism for the pedal. Is is a dummy setup? As in you can't pedal it like a bicycle. |

no not a umy set up its just that the pedal shaft runs through the swing arm and not through the engine but you can deffinitely pedal it why is another question |
