Hi Everyone

I'm now the proud owner of an '89 Fizz, only 20 years or so after I first had a go on one, but got there in the end.

Like the owner, its in need of a bit of tlc, does its best, but despite making a lot of noise doesn't get anywhere too quickly.

I've ordered a big bore kit, and am looking for a replacement exhaust, I understand the single unit, unrestricted pattern ones will fit ? Does anyone have any other suggestions, as top speed on the flat is currently a slightly dissapointing 35 ! Took me 5 hours to ride 100 miles back from where I bought it, but it was great fun.

Enjoy the summer

Paul

Hi Paul

Welcome to the site! Quite an epic journey picking your Fizz up so well done with that! The pattern exhausts are fine, and not too expensive. Where abuts are you located?

Cheers

Welcome to the site paul!

Treat your big bore kit to a porting job before fitting it, and check the piston ring gap. she'll be sweet then ;)

Hi

Thanks for the reply, is porting a specialist job or 'diyable', I'd assumed the piston rings that come with the kit are the correct size, or are the other options ?

The bikes great fun even at 35 mph, but I'm already hooked on trying to get more speed.....there's a bigger carb option as well I believe.

fitting a big carb is a mission, but big bore kits are good along with the one peice exhaust, you should be hitting around the 50 mark

Hi Paul welcome, porting can be done by the diyer if you have the right tools but if you have never done any then is best left to the pro's, I could tell you how to go about it or do the work for you or speak to mark g, pm me if you want more info.
