Cheers for the tyre info. I was not sure but am now convinced to get a cheap set of tyres as I doubt if (and when) i rebuild its going to do many miles!
;)

Posted your lock off today. Should be nice and greasy when you open it as I made sure to put as much WD40 as I could into it!

Cheers mate got the steering lock today, will try yamaha to get a key. I will have to check the one for my ignition first, you knever know, its at my works w/shop at Gt Yarmouth being meggered and continuity/function tested together with the harness to check for any break down. it has a 1000 volts put across all the cores to check for any leakage + continuity.

if you send your harness and ignition up I will do the same for you and send it back, so you know it will be right on fitting.

Cheers

if your missus is anything like mine your Fooked then
as soon as I mention the word fizzy she exits the room and says Im akin to Eric otherwaite of ripping yarns
if you aint seen it watch it, you will pi*s yourself
got a mail from almare duchies, my goods have now left duchi land, guess my collars arrived there today.
got a mail from sleazy saying my tinware arrived, so another result. you'd better hurry up otherwise you will be left behind.
picking up the zinc bits from the plater and more nos bits from Yamaha tomorrow. got a garage full of bits now just waiting to be bolted together.
I started to clean up the original pipe tonight and it looks quite good, better than what I thought. I ordered a pattern pipe from the duchies, but this is good enough to go back on after a de-coke with caustic soda. it would be no good for a show bike, but every day bike OK no kick start marks on it either.
I may see what sorta price they go for on flea bay and poss sell it to re-coup some cash back. my original muddies are not too bad either,
I will post a pic when finished polishing it

No not a race. got my bits back from the platers today some good some not so good. the metal that had no rust on it has come out like chrome the metal that had rust and was removed by the acid has come out dull silver and pitted, so a learning cerve there. need to prep more first. also I will need to phone him as a lot of the small stuff clips small nuts n bolts are missing, suspect they are at the bottom of his acid tank
you know what the answer will be.
adds to the hassle of getting more, another trip to yamaha.

I was looking at the pedal parts tonight, I am sure I am missing some bits.

can you take a photo of one of your engines of the shaft that the main sprocket goes on, then the pedal sprocket goes on it and a spring and a disk with locators also. I have these bits, but in the parts list it shows 2 off half moon clips and a collar behind it. I cannot see the parts and I am sure they were not on my engine shaft when the engine went for re-build. I assume they go on after the main drive sprocket? I don't know. it would be nice to see a picture in situ.
also how many spacers were on your back wheel when you took it off?
I bought my bike in a 1000 bits so can only assume all was there. I had 2 spacers plated one large one assume rear wheel and 1 spaller 1 assume front wheel. I think the back wheel has 2? not sure. can you help out??

Cheers for the pics, you need a few wire brushes for that one!!!!!! :o

I think on the spacers, when I look at the rear wheel exploded dia it shows a small spacer on the l/h side and another longer one on the r h/s. I now assume the small one in integral in the hub? as I have not completely stripped the hub down inside. and not on the visible outside. if that makes sence.

the shaft, yep mine is the same length, I was hoping yours still had the pedal change bits on the shaft, so I could see it made up as an assembly.

anyone else got a pic please of the pedal change mec on the shaft. I am interested in the location of the colar and the 2 half moon bits.

also can anyone advise how the system works and were the part that fits onto the side casing sits in the system

Cheers all
