Well Ted got your message too late, but I was one step ahead of you. I did look for some TS50 stuff and your headlight bits, but found nothing :( . Did'nt find any fizzy stuff either, but I'm sure someone will correct me on this :)
Saw Mr Web, Gary and met Mike today, and on the way home saw a tart with no kit on doing a photo shoot on a footbridge over the M25  :o ...how very distracting!

Orange,
can you post a pic of the l/h side of your fiz, I am starting to assemble mine and need some ref photos showing:

rectifier tray in position

exit point of the HT coil cable

how tight did you do your headstock nut?
did you fit it according to the parts book, as it appears to fit both ways, not sure which way is best, need some help there.

pics of the cable route at the h/lamp end

stand link photo

thanks in advance

Cobra

Hi Cobre, the piccy showing the stand link is at the begining of this thread, and the cable routes I'm not too sure of but most of it is shown in the book "How to restore Yamaha FS1E" which can be bought on e-bay. I think the HT lead comes out at the bottom of the frame, underneath the airfilter and through the clamp on the filter.
The throttle and choke go through the clip on the frame beneath the petrol tank but I'm sure where they go from there.
The headstock should not be overtight but tight enough so there is no movement in the steering. One way to check is to hold forks at the bottom and give them a
wiggle to see if there's any free play. The steering should move freely when turning the bars.
I've posted some other pics that hopefully will help you, if not I'll get some more detailed ones for you. What are you restoring?

Hi Im restoring a 74 popy purple on tread recently added a thread, friday. I would loke a pic with the left panel removed showing the rectifier plate please

so the ht lead goes out of the bottom of the air filter hole in the frame then?
Cheers

My mate done the frame, swinging arm, shrouds, bowl, and the tank and panels were already done when I bought it. I built him a porch for doing it, think he got the better end of the deal <_<
