Hi
How do I tell if my fizz I am doing up has a patterned or original front mudguard fitted or not. I don't want to spend £80 chroming something that is £30 new!
+ is it worth re chroming the original if that is what it is
Cheers

Hi
They normaly dont fit very well and sit high above the wheel but it depends if you want a mint show bike or a rider that looks pretty.

I have a pattern one on mine and I am happy with it.

I shouldnt bin it yet looks as though it could be original to me if it has two holes for the front number plate look underneath it should have two strengtheners welded on if there isnt any holes it begs the question i am asking on another thread whether the slightly later muddys had the holes done away with i ask this because i purchased a supposedly original mudguard from states but it didnt have the two holes for reg plate apart from that it was identical to my original front muddy.

More importantly, how do you tell a real helicopter from that one in your garage ... it looks flippin large [or is it micro-sized, but real close to your camera?]

:D

DON'T bin it.... a true restorer doesn't bin things

You might need it at a later point...

I for example didn't bin the horrible blue paintet front muddy from my first restoration project.. I sent it to blasting the other day, and tommorrow it goes to my painter (to be used on my special)...

yes it has the 2 holes, not sure on what you mean by the straitner bits.

the helicopter is my other childhood passion.
is a hughes defender, 15cc engine, does about 70 in a dive amazing clime outs, loks the part with landing lights etc, is about 4.5Ft long
I have a number of helis and fixed wing WW11 aircraft that I fly most weekends until I got the fizz to due up :D

Strenghtening plates around the holes underneath, two round discs spot welded on if they have these it is an original I would say
