Yes, I was going to change it but a few people have commented on it so I think I'll leave it on.

Paint stripper the old Laquer off, Polished Alloy on bench mop to mirror finish, then lightly rubbed down with wire wool to give even all over brushed finish then Clear Laquer.

Thanks for the kind comments folks,
This Fizzy is very special to me as it is my original bike from 1979, it got me to my first job as a teenager and then got me started into bikes full time.
My other bikes have all been and gone but for some reason, I've kept hold of the Fizz, glad I did now.

I Picked up the Decal from one of the shows last year (Uttoxeter I think)
Might be worth posting in the wanted forum or give these guys a try www.the-image-works.co.uk

Good Luck...

Quick update on progress, due to bad weather and no spare time Ive only just got round to going for a bit of a run, so decided to go to our local bike haunt, Matlock Bath for first proper ride today (about 40mls round trip) Started off no probs motor running sweet but struggling to pull 4th into head wind, managed to maintain 40MPH (indicated) in 3rd though so no real prob. Got to Matty Bath and parked up, cuppa Tea and then it started, How fast does it go? I had one just the same, Whats it worth?....I had a great time talking to people who all had very fond memorys of their old Fizzers and of coarse I recomended this site to them. On the return journey (head wind now a tail wind) motor felt much livlier, pulling 4th right up to an indicated 50MPH. I even got a double take from a bike cop going the other way!....Well Happy :D :D :D
