Hello to all,

Well I dare say my story is not to disimilar to most. A sad old bugger who saw a fizz for sale and couldn't resist. My first love a 76 yellow DX. Memories of commuting from Laindon, Essex, to Central London everyday in rush hour still bring a smile to my face. All but the dreaded rainy day on Gants Hill when I fell off, OOOPs. Still a twist of the bars to make things straight once more and off I went. 25 miles each way and an hour to do the journey.

Today I live in New Zealand, I have money, status, land, a brand new gl1800 Goldwing in the garage, but best off all and finally another fizzy yippee!!! When she arrived I just couldn't resist, one wee ride before I start to strip her down, got to the end of the road, s--t no brakes at all, landed in a few cow pats and still couldn't get the grin off my face. Job number 1....Brakes.

Interestingly the fizzies here are different, motor is 1973 but is 5 speed, 1d 4up, more interestingly the spare motor looks just the same but is reed valve not rotary disc. Anyone know about these models, love to hear from you

Anyway, sunnyside up

all the best

Bob

Hi Bob

Mark G is your man for engine info. I am sure if you ask him nicely he will fly out to NZ to sort you out

Also, have you any pics?
