Hi all, thought it was time to introduce myself. I am from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria one of you forty somethigs, and I used to have a baja brown fs1-e which I bought the very last of the unrestricted model from the bike shop. The registration numberber was OEO 846R. I am interested in fizzers that's what we used to call them anyway and wouldn't mind getting myself one but the price of them these days have rocketed. The top speed of my fizzer back in 1977 was 52mph. Good days eh.

Tony.

Hi Waddy, restored fizzies are expensive but prices are going down, they peaked about a year ago, you can now buy a good one for £1500.

When you buy one you can join us for a ride, unfortunatly decades of beer and pies mean that the top speed of a fizzy has been reduced to 45mph

Big hello to the site. There are a few fizzynuts in Cumbria so if you do manage to get hold of a ped you should have some riding companions! And once a year the NACC do the coast to coast :D

I have had a look at some fizzys on ebay and there are some nice ones especially the popsicle purple one but that one seems to be the wrong colour far to light. Plenty of dx's but all too far away from me. There is a later fs1-m autolube model that's not too far away and reasonably priced due to it's condition and the spares that come with it but if I were to get a fizzy i'd want an original pedal model. I think i'd have to sell my gt185 first otherwise I would get grief from her indoors. I think ideally as my lads 13 maybe restore one between us, but it's for me really lol.

Coast to coast run, is that from St Bee's to Robin Hoods Bay. I was in St Bees last sunday.

Tony.

hi, yes must agree with you regards which bike to have,to me they stopped making the fs1e about august 1975 when they produced the dx,which meant the end for the real SS/FS1E,SHAME.
