Andy, just been browsing the intro's and came across yours: I used to borrow my brothers pop purple fizz when I was 13 and drive it down a disused railway track at the back of our house. Then the clutch cable snapped and my bro turned 17. He got a Honda CD175 and the fizzy (MYG 765P) was left to fester at the back of the shed. Until I hit 16. Then it was restored and riden till it was nicked from a car park in Leicester in 1983. Then in my early 40's for some reason I got back into restoring these little beauties and bought the web site of Russell Sears............and here we are nearly 2 years later. Are you still in Leicester? do you remember "Motorcycle Accessories", in Belgrave Gate, I think? , I can't remember the name of the local Yamaha dealer in town, but remember hanging around Chris Sharp Motorcycles in Oadby where I lived all the time! Cheers Rob |

I was at college in Leicester. Although I once rode it from my home town of Hull to Leicester after that I took it by train (you could do that in those days!). I am now in London. Loved Leicester but didn't make it to any bike shops! |

hello,my name is bill and come from ross-on wye in Herefordshire, I am a mechanic and was a technician for honda, mot inspector and a manager of a busy workshop, but unfortunately the business closed. ihad when I was 16 the first fs chopper fs1e and about 3 fs1e many years ago then a yb 100 which I passed my bike test on. I have two fs1 1987 nearly restored all stripped down and all re-tapped on the frame, kept the araya wheels and had them re-spoked.the engine has a 43mm barrel which is a 60cc big bore kit. the engine has been stripped and all bolts renewed and bearings etc, also new seals included.the wiring has been taken out and has been re-soldered with heat shrink .I managed to get the decals for the side panel, but the tank does put the bike down a little bit.the engine has now been completely buffed giving this a very nice finish to the engine.and also a fs1 1989 still as a project but stripped down completely.both these bikes have log book papers and matching numbers. I am considering selling the one project as I also have the Honda cb200 1977 and the old 250cc dream plus other projects to do. I am looking where to find the paint code as both these bikes are of the pillar box red ,I wondered if someone could give the paint code and where would I be able to buy the paint please. I also have a yb front and rear mudguard and a rear swinging arm, also switches. many thanks bill Edited by bikerboy6, Jul 3 2013, 02:59 PM.
