Ok So I took a try at this free online game. My Review: Graphics: Decent, understandably it is 2D so it can't get a great score, but it was ok. Sound: Yuck, lame music, for such a Mario feel, it didnt have Mario music lol. Gameplay: Ok here is the kicker, the game play is actually decent. Again, a bit liek mario with jumping and side scrolling worlds. Down side is how you attack with a weapon. You essentially just hold down the Control key and watch it happen and hope the enemy dies before it walks through your weapon and hits you. There is no combo system or anything like that. I did not play far enough to get any sort of magic or anything however. But it would have been nice to have soem varying attacks, such as hold the Down key and attack does a different attack, up key again diff attack, arial attacks etc. As it is you land on a platform with enemies and hold down the control key till everything is dead. Overall: Personally I found this game a yawn. It was not active enough, not enough user input into the game, esentially just watching it happen even more so than console RPG's. Some varity in attacks would definitly improve this game, combos etc. Missions that don't involve killing and collection only would be nice. Maybe some sort of option story line? My rating 4/10 Good effort but needs refinement, we are no longer in a world of Astrosmash where we can be satisfied with 1 button controls and 2 directions of movement. Of course, I know many people like this game, so go for it (many people hate Rakion afterall) |
