Man paralyzed able to walk again thanks to REX robotic legs.

Mosquito larvae being genetically engineered against malaria. Bed net makers, charities gasp.

Pentagon tests mentally controlled arm. Horrible wanking accidents predicted to rise in the future.

Mentally controlled arm, eh? In other words, Cybernetics. True cybernetics.

Soon we're going to have cameras for eyes.

Soon we're going to have cameras for eyes.

I'm calling this now: when camera-eyes come in, all the early adopters of technology will be queuing round the block for them. All the posers who go to midnight launches for the iPhone will have their eye-cams installed via expensive, maybe painful surgery, but they'll think it's worth it.

...at least, until two months in advance, when their hardware becomes quickly outdated. Their 640x480, black-and-white camera they had implanted straight in their skull just so they could be the first will be rubbish compared to the next release, and the price of being an early adopter this time is higher than £200 or whatever. They'll have to go back for more extensive, expensive surgery which could well cause blindness/scarring/whining or whatever just to keep up with the new upgrade, while all the average consumers will wait until a fairly-priced one with decent enough features comes out that they can afford.

Yeah, not interested til they have night vision, infrared and some ridiculous level of optical zoom at the very least. And maybe lasers.

Well, I for one, would love to get my eyes augmented to be able to take pictures and save films. Maybe have a head's up display, too. Heartbeat rate'n'stuff. All light blue.

Crosshairs, things that can oidentify what I'm looking it. For instance... How freaking awesome would it be to pick up a Bag of Cheetos, and scan the label on the back, and SAVE it, so you can tell all of your friends right off the bat how much crap is in their cheetos? That would be so cool.

I'd love to see a scanning bar appear while looking at a hot-dog. Just for kicks.

Since my eyes don't work worth a fuck to start with (20/50 left; 20/150 right; family history of cataracts; and astigmatism which makes one of them look like a fucking football), I'd have no problems looking like a sidebar character in WH40K if it meant I had a body which FUCKING WORKED.

So they're on the verge of this, yet still no decent HMDs? For shame.

Soon we're going to have cameras for eyes.

they have that already.

woman had electrodes put in her brain, and with the help of an external computer and special glasses she is able to see for the first time in her life.

granted, what she sees are basically white dots that sort of make up shapes, but she has vision.

I've always sort of fantasized about having a camera for an eye, and being able to take a picture when I blink. That way I can take pictures of insanely hot women and not be awkward about it. :D

Feldoon's does 3x Corrosive damage and has a fire rate of 12, but it's not very accurate.
