It's about 90s cartoons, you've pretty much made the nostalgia jackpot for this demographic.

Come to think of it, 90s cartoons have had an even worse effect on the internet than 80s ones. The latter gave us transformers fans. The former gave us furries.

The longer this is on the forum, the more uncomfortable I feel about it.

Oh my god. This is why you are so awesome, east. Un-censored honesty.

The Chip 'n' Dale Show seems suddenly less cool now... And it was not too cool to begin with.

As long as they don't ruin The Mighty Ducks, I don't care.

And there's not nearly enough people who know what I'm talking about to ruin it.

You do mean the show where they're actual ducks, correct?

More like humans with variants of Donald Duck's face slapped on but yeah. Walking talking ducks from another universe where hockey is a way of life and they fight evil dinosaur sorcerors with advanced technology.

Better than it sounds.

Sorry, Furries were in before the '90s. You can blame Disney for us.

I agree with East:

I don't have a problem with Furies, they are -I'm my opinion,a bit odd, and what some of them do, well its tad too kinky (even) for me. But the shit in this thread is just too weird. Please Let It Die

I have to disagree with the majority here: this is one of the greatest things to happen in a short while. What with the BP oil spill, the rising economic distress, and general ill-news that spreads the world over, it's quite easy for one to become discouraged and disenfranchised with life here on planet Earth.

And then some Ruskies start worshiping a field mouse that made bottlecap airplanes. The absolute inanity, the absurdity of the whole situation - it makes me throw my head back in a mighty guffaw. This right here, this is the kind of unconventional hilarity that makes it easier to go through another day.

Just when you think you've heard every joke, in come the mouse worshiping Russians. The kind of thing too absurd to make up. I adore it.

Am I the only one who's not surprised by this?

Sad yes but I'm not surprised. Rescue Rangers is not the first to have a character turned into a religion and probably won't be the last.

I know, it mainly started with Robin Hood, but the 90's was a saturation point.

How did that movie do? I hope it flopped. The 'man behind the legend' is always boring, especially since there was NO 'man' behind it, Robin Hood is about as historical as King Arthur.

See, this is why I live in Cumbernauld - all we have to our name is the fact that a movie took place in one of the worst high schools in existance.

It was a movie called Gregory's Girl made in the seventies I think? I'm not sure but I did go to the high school there for a few years. And it was bad from personal experience - YMMV and all but the teachers didn't do their jobs and I didn't learn a damn thing in any of my classes hence why I transferred.

The only good thing about that was the fact there was a pair o' charlies in it. but now we have the Internet so it is defunct.

I know, it mainly started with Robin Hood, but the 90's was a saturation point.

You can blame the Internet for that.

Also, two gay activists who worked hard to market the fandom to the gay community, such as by putting ads for early furry conventions (which they ran) in gay-specific magazines. By ConFurence 4, we had drag queens and bondage types showing up, and no amount of bitching would budge these two.

So we started getting people joining the fandom, often via the Internet, in droves, because they'd heard we "allowed" all sorts of sex fetishes. Saturation? We got swamped.

And that's the reason why I laugh every time someone claims the fandom's not about sex.
