Short answer is that we're British and do things differently.

No. We do things RIGHT.

True. I was just trying to be nice about it.

As for sports, I don't really do "sport", but I do exercise with Shoto Budo and get a lot of dance time in.

Ouch! Damn and my post was just retaliation buncha limies teaming up on me. Making me sad. *sobs* I was just trying to be funny.
On an entirely serious note: I'm going to be a bit more careful with what I post now that I know what "flies" and what doesn't.

What's not okay what you've been doing: Posting spam threads, insulting random people without even getting a feel for the place, arguing against mods.
What's okay: Pretty much everything else. Couldn't hurt to read the actual rules, though.

I forget about the difference between British humor and American sometimes. (often)

See, that's what Pix means, stuff like that.

You'll find that the majority of us are pretty lax and prone to teasing. It's got nothing to do with differences in humour. Just look at what you've written before stepping on people's toes in future and you'll do fine here.

Wait but, no England is left side of the road I thought. My brain hurts.

We tried leaving England by the side of the road. It followed us until we gave up and treated it to a light supper and a hand up the garter.

I like to play golf, too.  It's boring, you say? Well you can kiss my ass.

I never said it was boring. I just said nothing happens.

What the hell do you mean "nothing happens"? Plenty of things happen. Also, it's an extremely tough sport to be good at. You have to get your swing down perfectly in order to get a good shot off. You can't just pick up a golf club and expect that you're going to get a hole in one on your first try.

Happy Gilmore is not exception.

Well the way I see it is, there's no direct confrentation in golf. Sure, you're trying to get the lowest score but it's not any kind of face off. Please realize I'm not saying golf isn't extremely difficult. Hitting straight is close to impossible for me. But, I'm not racing with anyone, I'm not fighting for posession of a ball and I'm not interacting with my opponents. Again don't get me wrong golf is difficult. I personally just don't enjoy it.

Direct confrontation with people isn't the only way to do things, though. Not everybody cares about that - and gold is a prime example. You're competing against the course, not other people. Your objective is to overcome a pre-set challenge, and secondarily do so with more skill than other people, rather than directly overcoming another person.

Doesn't make it 'not a sport' or that 'nothing is happening', but it's a differant type of stimulation and it works on an entirely differant level - and thus, appeals to entirely differant people. Some people don't care if they're directly interacting with any other percieved opponents: The challenge itself is their opponent, and everything else is secondary.

Ok point taken. Please note however that I stated that it was my opinion. I personally don't enjoy it. I'm not saying that you're foolish in liking golf. I'm saying that it ain't my cup of tea.

Golf is such an athletic sport.

Whack the ball, get in the cart. Whack the ball, get in the cart.

Hey, don't forget mercilessly mocking your opponent/the guy you're caddying for when they inevitably flump a shot.

And occasionally planting trick balls.

And the commentary is electrifying.
