Coming fresh on the heels of my watching "Ghostwatch", this article appears.

You British love your ghosts, don't you?

Blame scam-artist fraudsters like Derek Acorah for perpetuating the belief in this brand of horseshit.

Huh, notice it's mostly rural areas. Lower level of education? Country folk boredom? Spot a ghostly white shape on a hillside, turns out in reality to be a sheep?

Most Haunted is fucking hilarious. The guy who they get on to get possessed and is either a horrible shell of a man trying to shill people with his horrible acting, or he genuinely believes he's possessed.

Americans love our ghosts, too. There's like five or six currently running paranormal/ghost researching shows right now. My favorite? 'Ghost Adventures'.

It's like 'Ghost Hunters', only without all the pseudo-science (that is, until they got a device that a ghost could make speak a list of words). The premise of the series is they go to a place, listen to the terrible/unsettling/evil history of it, set up cameras and then spend the night there. So, basically the same premise as all paranormal research team shows.

But the real difference that gives 'Ghost Adventures' its hilarious appeal? The guys, most of all the leader Zach. See, Zach taunts ghosts. He talks endless amounts of shit in empty rooms in the dark. Stuff like "I heard you like to hurt people, and I don't like that. How about you try hurting me?" And then they react, oh good god do they react. Pretty much everything gets an "oooh did you hear that?" or "Oh man did you feel that?" or "OH CRAP" followed by narration and playing of sounds that we're told are words but just sound like sounds.

But the real magic is when they're possessed. They go quiet and make the douchiest faces I've ever seen. This has happened many times, and oddly enough, they never require a priest to end the possession.

TL;DR - 'Ghost Adventures' is like 'Ghost Hunters' if you replace the pseudo-scientists with Brosefs from Frat-ville.

I want to make a low-class joke about horrible apparitions being sighted in our bathroom, but meh. It's nearly 5am and I really can't be arsed.

"What we have here... is Failure To Dissipate."

*facepalms*

What makes this worse is that I have a whole string of really bad comic-strip ideas with that running gag in mind, and no strip to actually put them in.

Druggie: This LSD's a rip-off! Fifteen hits and nothin'!

Fat Sheriff-Type: What we have heah...is a fail-yuh...ta HALLUCINATE.

And so on. :<_<:

I cannot claim Originality -- I was reminded of a card in the game _PHART: The Dispersing_ titled "The Grim Reeker".
