I'm pretty sure some of you may have seen this before but I thought it was rather cool, I used to read Sonic the Comic until they stopped doing it so I was pretty happy about finding this.

Though some parts of it are a little odd.

Aye, as with most fanfiction, you need to expect the..weird and the slightly uninspired.

It's nice that it was first put up by the original artists from STC, though. And I think one or two of them still help out from time to time.

I used to read it until it literally became nothing except reruns of old stories--it annoyed me when they put just one story, then it became two, at which point I found no point in reading it. When they finally replaced everything, I knew STC was over.

Wait, is that "Sonic the Hedgehog" comic by Archie still around? I used to have some issues of it years ago... who knows where they are now...

Did you come up with that horrible 'Johnny comes back from the dead' story?

That one scarred me for life. And not in a good way.

Hey, it's actually been pretty good lately.

Apparently it's the longest running single licensed comic book in the world. So they gotta be doing something right.

Siiides, there's a webcomic or two that owes some inspiration to it, if I can just remember which ones... *ducks*

Yes it is. =D They're currently working on issue 205.

Personally, I like the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog. It has some nice humor in it, the artwork is pretty damn good (usually when Tracy Yardley is around), and the story is interesting. I think it's doing pretty well.

And yes, like Sabre said, a certain webcomic was partly inspired from this series. *ducks also*

Aaaah, that old one. One of the harder things to remember is it was set during Halloween release dates, so they wanted something kinda "scary" to go along with it.

In hindsight, using Johnny was a tad over cheesy and odd, however at the time it was a big success with the fans down to the whole Johnny coming back from the dead just as the comic had so recently had too.

But no, I did not personally come up with it. I wasn't on the staff at the time. :P

Which webcomic would that be? I rather doubt the EN team have read a single issue of Archie Sonic between them.

Didn't Eastwood say ages ago that one of the reasons EN came about was because he wanted to show he could write something better than Archie? Hang on, I think that was Grim Darkness... which EN was spawned from, so technically that would mean EN was in some twisted way brought about because of Archie.

I'm overthinking this, aren't I?

Seriously!?

...

On a different note, I still have over 200 issues of said Sonic comic (STC, not Archie) under my bed. Maybe I should get them out.

Decap Attack! ftw.

Issue #250, actually. And it's gonna be fething epic.

You know, a lot of people say STC- O is slow, but when you add up all the full comic pages we've done in the time we've been running, it equates to two pages a week.

Don't seem so slow anymore. Especially when you add in interviews, reviews, pin ups, Data Zones and the entire site needing redone for EVERY ISSUE.

I still have all my back issues. Got a friend who may want them, and they're the first comic books I ever got, so they have a shade of sentimental value. So they've been saved from the pink recycling bags... for now.

I only ever managed to get my mitts on two STC comics when i was little and a bit obsessed with the show, but finding them was really hard when you can't go anywhere by yourself.

I grab the odd issue if it's Echidna laced, i.e. the Enerjak ones, and if the art is pretty (some issues look a bit off sometimes XP ) I do loves me some 'Kinners.. though i've noticed that somewhere in the comics echidna were suddenly NOT endangered anymore... i remember one issue where almost every character was a Kinner....0.o nyu

Yeah, not one but two ancient civilisations of echidnas have appeared outta nowhere. They're at war, or at best very high tension, with each other all the time. So still kind of endangered, half of them sided with Robotnik recently.

I guess I could taunt you, having seen all the gorgeous artwork that's being produced for it. Zak Simmons Hurn (Whom I recall Nigel Dobbyn commented himself was "Awesome and had real comic industry potential") is back again to open the comic, so you know it's going to be lush.
