Hardly -- the last guy didn't start losing credibility until his second term. The current douchenozzle hasn't even made it through his first *year*, and already folks are bandying the "I" word around. (Not, of course, that the MSM will admit it -- I haven't seen an [ahem] whitewash like this since F1 tried to hand Lewis Hamilton the title, and his bosses got greedy....) |

He's still gone longer without a major terrorist attack. Though that doesn't mean I'm not expecting one, but not from the same source... |

...yeah, not really, a year and a day later a bunch of Aussie tourists got blown up in Bali so we're not exactly confident about that. Besides, they don't really need to make another terrorist attack. 9/11 worked. It pretty much drove the US insane, leading it to become completely discredited in the eyes of the rest of the world, to openly violate their own Constitution and human rights laws in a fit of rage and paranoia, and invade a completely irrelevant country that became a perfect terrorist recruiting and training ground. On the other hand, I gotta wonder if you'd have voted for a black guy with a funny name if 9/11 hadn't happened. Ah, for want of a nail. Still doesn't mean 9/11 is off my "Top 5 things to change using time travel" list (along with saving the Sonic franchise and Michael Jackson's career). Let's face it, things would have probably been for the better. |

in b4 lockdown I can kind of see now why most of the other forums I'm in have TEH POLITIKZ either dedicated to their own little festoon in the form of another, less regulated subforum, or simply banned save for hot-button topics and passing references. Getting back to the topic at hand, rather than going on about who's in office... I've got my money on ACORN being completely shut down within a year or so. Quite recently, Bank of America announced it was cutting ties with them. |

Wait, wait, wait... hold up. Bush had credibility? I was under the impression that most of the sane world thought he was dangerously incompetant well before the 2004 election. Even leaving Iraq aside: the 'Axis of Evil' speech was one of the most damaging episodes in recent US foreign policy history on its own. Lumping Iran in there was a resounding f-you to the moderates in the Iranian government, and the use of that sort of simplistic, Saturday-morning-cartoon rhetoric made the US a laughing stock in many circles. And while Obama may have his flaws, he's at least so far managed to avoid feeling up any foreign heads-of-government. |

Yes, at the almost brain-dead expense of taking away veterans health benefits, and instead leaving them at the mercy of private insurance companies. Never mind the fact that he's putting former military men in a bad situation, he's also making said former military men angry as all hell. Have you seen when an experience Marine gets mad? It ain't pretty. |

I'm probably going to get a lot of shit for propagating this discussion, but here goes: You realize that he noticed the growing crowd of angry vets at his door and immediately dropped the proposal waaaaaay back in March. He even said in a speech to the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Committee back in August that he would change nothing about veteran healthcare. Then again, there's the recent proposal about dropping the pensions on 26 WWII-era Alaskan Guard members. That, granted, was unwise (as far as I can tell-- I don't know the full story about that) but consider this: About how many WWII veterans do you think are still alive today? 1,000? 2,000? More like 2.3 million.. I'm not saying this somehow justifies it, just that the great majority of other veterans aren't directly affected by this one. |

Yeah, we did. Everyone was very surprised, and shocked and terrified, that you voted him back in. And I don't know how people can be outraged about leaving veterans at the mercy of private insurance, and then turn around and say they don't need so Obamalist Socialcare, private insurance is just fine. |

It's just a thing America has about it's vets. They serve in the military, we feel we must pay them back somehow. |

Just in case anyone thought that this was all over, here's a new video about their shenanigans in Philadelphia... http://www.breitbart.tv/breaking-acorn-sti...delphia-office/ There was also this video of an interview with Andy Breitbart about this whole thing, I'll see if I can find it... Oh, and did anyone else see how South Park immortalized this whole thing with ACORN? http://biggovernment.com/2009/10/15/acorn-...-on-south-park/ |

No, giving them health insurance. To us, it's wrong to let the private companies have at them. That, and the fact that if you take it away, you're left with a large group of very angry and very well trained individuals not happy with the government. See where I'm going with this? |

Did you even read what I posted? Please. Please show me where you're getting this. Please show me at least one news article or governmental report from a reliable source saying that veteran healthcare will be taken away that is newer than March 2009, since Obama has already stated he was dropping that plan months ago. 'Cause the signing of H.R. 1016 (Veterans Health Care Budget Reform and Transparency Act, which forces Congress to pre-plan their annual budget for Veteran Affairs and expedite spending for health care purposes) and the introduction of H.R. 2389/S. 642 (Health Care for Members of the Armed Forces Exposed to Chemical Hazards Act of 2009, which create registries of members, former or not, of the military who have been exposed to environmental health hazards, such as Vietnam's Agent Orange sprays, and amend Title 38 to provide for additional care for them) sure makes it look like the government still want vets to have their healthcare. Please. Show me. If it's good, I'll shut up about this. |
