Bought a second hand strat copy and amp to learn guitar this year.

Posted Image

Strat (guitar): £30 (meant to be £65)
Amp: £45 (meant to be £90, loaded with some nice d-effects as well)
Bag: £5
Cable: 50p
Plectrum: 50p
Tuner: £10

About £91 in total. Hopefully paying for all that will help me actually have an investment in learning now, rather than just picking up my brother's for 10 mins or so occasionally to see if I can play along to random tabs on the internet.

£91? That's like $149 US dollars. You got a good deal.

Now there's a good time. I would totally buy one of those NERF vulcan machine guns.

....I fear the next time the EN forum meet, it would look like the yearly gun club outing day.

Last month, I attended an event which had, among other things, a crank-operated
0.30-calibre Machine Gun, and a 0.50-calibre bolt-action rifle. Made the Tula
Jackhammer* look rather peaked.... :)

Tho I doubt Local Authorities would look kindly upon such things, considering how
they react to Boy Scout multitools, for fuck's sake.

That's got nothing on that .577 doing the rounds on YouTube.

It has its charms, but the 0.50 was attracting attention from three counties away (and
I'm talking midwestern-US counties, not those dinky-ass things y'all have in the UK :) ).

Back to things we've bought: my Windows 7 disc arrived in the mail today (£30 since I had a .ac.uk address). Will install this Friday, finally moving on from this copy of XP which I've used for about 7 years now.

Back to Gratuitous Consumerism: I really need to put together my Christmas List.
Granted, it usually runs to "bookstore gift cards", but.... :)

I bought a Logitec dual analog gamepad for the PC today, inspired by a dream of playing City of Heroes converted into a beat-em-up, and I made a tribute character just for it. Turns out it works fairly well if you build your own control scheme.
