There's usually a topic floating about forums, detailing the wacky and wonderful things people buy, which make you go "That's a ruddy good idea, that is". Or a place to find a bargain, to share with the world. Perhaps we need such a topic. I'll start the ball rolling with a weird, but fantastic buy i found, about a month ago.

The Gadget hip holster!

I'll admit i have a problem with wanting to carry my gubbins everywhere. There's only so much a pair of pants can carry with a non silly looking amount of pockets, and the back pockets are a bit of a pain in the arse to use (literally, when you're talking a bunch of keys), So some smart sod came up with the holster. Clip on, load up, and you're golden. Even has a little gap in, so once you line it up. You've still got access to your usual pockets. Gubbins storage, without your trouser pockets full to the brim.

You lucky bastard. The FLGS that existed around here a few years ago had one, on special order, that he'd sold to the buyer for around £100.

Really? I was hoping it'd be the classic D6 Investigators per round?

'sides, I've never played 'Clix in my life, and have no intention of changing that. But it'd make a glorious Daemon Prince.

When you've got Superman, Darkseid and the Silver Surfer in the room, you have to start measuring things differently.

Okay Cthulhu, roll a d20 for initiative.

...You see, that's a natural 21. Come on, we're trying to have a good, fair game for once, stop cheating.

Cthulhu would eat all of them, or at least drive them all batshit.

LG got me a USB memory watch for my birthday, which was a wonderfully geeky surprise addition to a practical gift. How nerdy is that: 8 gigs of USB storage on your wrist? And when you plug it in using a connector cable while wearing it, you feel like a cyborg. Next step: have a USB device implanted subdermally. Onward towards the Technological Singularity!

Next step: have a USB device implanted subdermally. Onward towards the Technological Singularity!

Kevin Warwick did those experiments with RFID chips in his hands, that was quite awesome.

The scenario I'd love to see happen would be for cameras that go in your eyes to be invented, then all the mega-rich (and arrogant) high-end of the market people would all rush to buy them. In about 2 months, they'll be advanced from 640x480 little things to more than you'd ever need on a desktop, leaving them to have painful surgery to get the update that everyone else gets the first time. It's the equivalent of the first batch of PS3s being dodgy.

Well, Silver Surfer is Nyarlathotep to Galactus's Azathoth, so he's out.

Darseid is already batshit-fucking-insane, so he's out.

And Superman after a failed SAN check -- *that* would be kind-of cool to watch...
from a completely separate reality.... >:)

Batman could take Cthulhu. If he had time to prepare.

Besides, he's already batshit.

Some of the other stuff was cooler, like the ultrasonics and remote manipulator in Buffalo.

Never actually got taught by him when I was at his department, he was always off doing crazy shit.
