Read it, and weep...

Hopefully it won't go through, but... Disney-fied Iron Man? Spider Man? X-Men?

ACK!!

I am sure they would let them do their own thing on the comic front... buut what about all the movies made by the differant studios? that are STILL in production.

also doesn't Universal studios have all the super hero themed rides...

Well that's Deadpool fucked.

Also does this mean all the marvel heroines will have their boobs made smaller ala that Herbie remake?

Certainly a surprise that Disney would be buying Marvel, but I doubt they would completely merge and modify them that would be construed as "hated" by the existing fanbase.

Not unless they do X-men babies.

As for disneyesc versions, we also have the anime adaptations of Iron Man and Wolverine, so I doubt it will change much .

Well... erm, woo?

I doubt this will effect the Iron Man movies, same with the forthcoming Captain America movie. So I'm not exactly going to lose sleep over it. They publish a pile of wank these days, anyway. The only thing even vaguely worth the price is Deadpool.

Meh-I'm more of a DC man nowadays. No Marvel liscences interest me aside from Deadpool. So all in all I couldn't care less-though it'll be interesting if Disney is smart enough to keep it's nose out.

Because this will change so much beyond Disney acquiring licenses.

I wouldn't worry about the movies in the works, Disney has said that they'll honor all of Marvel's current obligations.

Ah yes, because the other distributors that Disney owns are known for producing such kiddified fare as Kill Bill.

Disney isn't crazy, they're probably not even going to bother messing with the comics. All this really means is that the Marvel movies have a guaranteed distributor.

It also kinda balances out the universe, what with DC being owned by Warner Bros.

The KH and fighting ones seem like the most logical choice really.

Kill me, but I wanna see the Mighty Ducks (animated series) in KH before I see Wolverine.

Why God? What did they do to deserve the wrath of Eisner?

I mean, God, Disney better hand the Marvel movies to it's other studios, otherwise kiss those heroes goodbye!

I think Eisner's been kicked out for a while, Pixar pretty much runs the show these days.

Yup:

http://corporate.disney.go.com/corporate/b...obert_iger.html .

And the head creative guy at Pixar these days:

http://www.awn.com/mag/issue3.8/3.8pages/3...nslasseter.html

knows better than to piss in the fans' Cheerios too much. (To give you an idea of
where he comes from, he used to be one of the tour guides on Disneyland's "Jungle
Cruise" -- they guy is One Of Us.)

Not being a huge comic-book fan, I can't say whether this is Good, or Bad; but I can
say It Could Have Been *FAR* Worse (look up "the Paul Pressler Era" in Disney
History for details... :P ).

Reboot-palooza!

I think this is okay to put here; I didn't want to start a new thread.

To quote Mortal Kombat: It has begun!

However, as everyone has said, Marvel is more than likely going to keep it's identity, so I don't think it's going to end up too cartoony or Disney-fied.

At least, one can hope...

Well Ang Lee's "Hulk" was arse, while the reboot "The Incredible Hulk" was much better. Both Fantastic 4 films were equally arse as Hulk, if not moreso, so here's hoping.

Well... not really. No.

The Four are with Fox. The reboot's with Fox. There were rumours floating around that Fox wanted to reboot the series before the acquisition. Mostly because the first movie was just a bit shit and I couldn't even stomach the second.

It really has nothing to do with Disney's purchase.
