New reminder, people have until THIS FRIDAY to declare whether they're coming or not.

Last to confirm is Ed Sigma.

[New page, how fitting]

[Edit: DC, Astro and Twinbladez are out. PM'd Ed ask him.]

Tiny bit of a problem;
Terms+Conditions

5. Voucher can only be used as stipulated and it cannot be exchanged for cash or used in any other way. Sale of the voucher is prohibited. Admission prices are subject to change. Voucher cannot be used in-conjunction with any other offer or concession (eg disabled, senior citizens, family tickets), reward/loyalty program, 2 Day Pass, Annual Pass, on-line tickets, rail inclusive offers, on events or concerts or for Group/advance bookings.

Just means that it'll be an extra £3.75 each if we're splitting ticket prices in pairs.

Don't book any tickets online, though, else you won't be able to halve it with someone.

Found what looks like some decent cheap hotels, they're a few miles from the park but that's no real problem for me, since I'm borrowing mum's GPS.

http://www.aboutbritain.com/AccommodationNearAltonTowers.asp

The Weathervane, or the North Stafford look the cheapest, though you get a discount online for booking at the Weathervane. I'd prefer it if those who needed a hotel could all go to the same one.

Personally liking the look of the Weathervane, £65 for two people over two nights.

This.

I'm surprised nobody's looked for a Travelodge or something equally cheap yet.

The North Stafford is (which the site strangely doesn't mention) directly opposite Stoke Rail station, meaning you can get the bus straight to Alton Towers if you're not driving (return tickets are a fiver). Not sure if parking is free at Alton Towers, though.

I'm not because none of you have done a fucking thing yet.

http://www.travelodge.co.uk/search_and_boo...hp?hotel_id=187

And parking costs £4/5 apparently.

Yeah, I remembered it, but looking, it seemed to be about £70pp or so. I'll have a look again.

Yep, family room (2 adults, 2 children) is £55 for a night, just for the room. Thing is, you can't get away with 4 adults in a family room, since a Double is exactly the same price, and there's a "Kids Stay & Eat FREE" above the booking form.

Still, £27.50 each. I'd decide and book soon, it says there's only a few rooms available.

The Weathervane is cheaper by the looks of it, I'll check in the morning but I think that was £65 for two people over two nights. Besides, we have NO FUCKING IDEA HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE GOING TO NEED HOTEL ROOMS BECAUSE NOT EVERYBODY HAS FUCKING CONFIRMED OR DID YOU SUDDENLY GET DYSLEXIA?

Yep, Weathervane's cheaper. What I find a bit strange is that two people for one night is £30, which is less than half of two people for two nights.

Everyone who wants to go has confirmed or denied (except Ed), I was editing my post at the top of this page rather than making a new one. Accommodation plan so far:

Pix: No hotel, travelling alone.

Virus: No hotel, staying in Manchester on Sunday.

East, Jeff, Feldoon, Silv: Drive up Sunday, stay the night, Alton Towers Monday, stay the night again, drive back down.

Lothar, S.Asperger: Not 100% clear on what you guys were doing, coming down Monday morning and staying the night, or coming down Sunday and staying two?

Either way, all of you in quick live chat would be the simplest way to make a firm decision.

I was originally thinking of staying the one night, but considering that we might be knackered after the day in the park and I'd rather not drive while fucked over, might be a better idea to stay 2. Gonna talk to Drew (asperger) today and see.

So I'm thinking that as many of us get together the night before (Sunday) so there's very little awkward introductions to be made on the day we're there to have fun.
