Keep going back to the ride he's operating, getting more and more annoying each time we go: ducking under the queue, pretending to be shorter than the height barrier, asking him to tuck him into the seats, screaming loudly before it's even started. -Then- drop the word 'Feldoon' randomly into conversation, perhaps even as two words with a Scottish accent.

Ah fel doon, an ah couldnae get bach oop.

Part of me is gutted your leaving but then it's not like I've seen you much. Good luck in Canada and all that.

If you guys are serious about a forum meet you need to sort something out soon. Someone will have to take charge and find a location ASAP (especially seeing as you're leaving in October).

Another forum I frequent have started arranging meets recently. For July 08 and 09 (and hopefully Dec 09) we have rented a cottage for 24 in South Wales, near Brecon. It's a long way to travel but so worth it.

We started arranging both July meets the previous December. Our forum is slightly bigger than this one and we found when we just said "who would like to meet up" only a handful said yes (11 to be exact), even then nothing happened until we organised it in secret on another forum (for some reason. Don't ask me why it worked).

We have only two rules (well one rule, one guideline), Over 18's only and only people we think we'll get along with get an invite.

See, I would have gone for the 'The Running Man' route on that reference, myself.

You could certainly acquire me for Scottish accenting.

The main problem though is date (as I'm already booked 2 weekends off work) and time (trains this close to september are....substantial in monetary terms)

As such, I'd rather you guys decide on your own date to suit you lot. If I can make it I will, if not, oh well.

Not me. I'm in a similar boat to Retro.

Are we talking a day trip, or do we stay over a night or two? The latter might be more practical to those trekking a greater distance, at a greater cost for accomodation.

Will it need to be a weekend for the benefit of those of us who work? Though Retro works weekends anyway. Do the workers have a fighting chance of taking a weekday or two off? A weekday might be quieter in the park.

When do the kids go back to school? Less kids in the park the better.

Perhaps we can have a whip-round to pay for Silv's ticket, if Eastwood can cover his transportation, to have the Fourth Man present. Hell if we book in advance as a group of 10 or more we can get 30% off.

Jeff, London Expo is October, after I've left :P

Any nominations for alternate venues?

A couple weekdays a couple weeks into September, ideally.

I'd say a Monday and Tuesday.

Also: best to start here.

And my travel plans pretty much involve training to Pixland, hijacking him, frisking him violently and smuggling him onto the train. I'll know who he is.

One fingerless glove.

One fingerless glove.

Shall I guess which finger? :P

And Avenue Q is one of the best shows I have ever seen! ...wasn't that the one that we went to see, and we got lost, hon? Yeah, that's the one. We ended up going well over a mile east trying to find the venue instead of west. We finally found it, and went to see Wall-E because we had a lot of spare time...

Damn headache making not make sense...

One fingerless glove.

Hah, I just spent about a minute's worth of hard laughing because you actually remembered that.

Posted Image

For the entire last year of high school and the first year of college, I wore this single, fingerless glove on my right hand because it was warm, you could keep stuff in it (papers, mp3 player, pen), gave me better grip (drumming, mouse), and that I could be recognised easily in a crowd (say, meeting someone in town, you'd describe yourself as wearing a single fingerless glove, it was a single attribute that no-one else within miles would have, ((01:13:38) Matt Hall / Feldoon: What you should said was a unique identifier)).

I just use it for drumming, now. But I'm sure the cotton's texture on the palm has changed a whole lot.

---

Anyway, back to the topic. Any day 'cept Sunday is fine for me. I haven't been able to get a job this summer, and I'm not learning to drive any more. Alton Towers for me is a £4.50 return bus from Stoke rail station, so I'm sorted for transport.

People who are interested in a meetup, post here with:

- Current location
- Days available to meet, and dates you can't
- What transport you'd take (non-location specific, also, can you drive)
(- Any other decent venues apart from Alton Towers?)

--

- Newcastle-under-Lyme (Right next to Stoke)
- Any day apart from Sundays, won't be able to make it at the end of September (going back to Uni)
- I can drive, but I'd rather not at the moment. I'd end up taking public transport, or getting picked up by someone.
- Alton Towers is best for me. Never been, and it's a short trip for me.

- South-East Essex
- Any day, but I need to know ASAP as there are things happening that may take events out of my control.
- I'll be driving. Public transport for the lose.
- Since I'll be driving, I'm not too fussed about the where. As long as it isn't London, or for preference, any city centre. Cities tend to hate cars for some reason, mostly because the people running them these days have some freakish bus fetish.

- Hounslow, half hour trip from Heathrow Airport
- Any day really till I find a job
- Can't drive so someone either picks me up or I get local transport lol.
- Been once but we never went on the more famous rollercoasters. Not to mention, it was a short experience, given it took 8 hours back and forth.

What about my an idiot? Oh, I get it, you meant "you're". How ironic; it's a bit like the pot calling the kettle a pot. It was a joke, dipshit, riffing off the screenname "Feldoon"? Please try to be less stupid and reactionary, everybody else here takes it in good fun when we mock them for their nationality.

We weren't 'lost'... We were exploring... >.> Plenty of time to kill, and just awandering casually :D Right up until we went in a newsagents for a map.

But yes, fantastic show. The funny thing was, both of us knew about the Canada song, but neither knew the other knew :P

-Workington, Cumbria
-Any day should be doable, I have plenty of holidays left, and lenient bosses. I'm leaving October 10th.
-I'm looking at options for public transport and B&Bs. It's gonna be at least four hours travel, I might be best off travelling down the day before and staying the night. This hotel is right next to Stoke-On-Trent station, handy for those arriving via train, and subsequently buses to the park.
-Well I suggested the venue in the first place, so that's my vote. Been a number of times, it's a larf, and also fairly central to the country (so quit whining, Southerners :P )
