I take it you have more 'sense' than aesthetic appreciation then. It's called art.

Sorry to be snippy, but people criticising somebody's artistic hobby because it has no 'point' are missing the point, and it's a personal irritation. Some of us just like to create, we don't need a reason.

I guess we should knock down all those statues, monuments and all forms of styling in architecture by your definition then....

Really? Because I use a tablet and a computer. The comic for 13th of June didn't touch a sheet of paper at any point during its production.

The fact that you used 'art' and 'limit' together proves you really don't have any expertise to argue in this field.

Isn't art, by it's very nature, about pushing the boundaries? Being controversial? Doing something that makes people think about the way they see the world, the way they see life?

But what do I know? I only did art formally for 5 years and simply dabble these days.

You really don't have any idea what you're talking about, do you? Limited to paper and canvas, huh? So then, does that mean the creation of the Statue of Liberty, or the Abraham Lincoln statue are crimes by your definition?

I'm sorry but to my mind comics count as literature, and I consider monuments to be unconnected with art as they're more structures, music also isn't art it's... well music.
Anyway sorry about the fact I have an opinion.

P.S.
That thing isn't a monument it's a tool.

I'm sorry but to my mind comics count as literature, and I consider monuments to be unconnected with art, music also isn't art it's music.

The very definition of art is 'the result of creativity': anything that anyone creates is art, but it has subclasses. While the Eiffel Tower and the Mona Lisa are completely different, both are art: one is architecture, one is fine art with traditional media.

This comic is a mixture of both literature (which is also art) and digital art: the literature by itself is not a comic, and the visual art by itself again is not a comic. The collaboration involved in making a comic is even more artistic than a singular piece.

Music is another subclass of art, just because it doesn't take a visual form, that doesn't make the 1812 Overture any less of an art piece than Van Gogh's Sunflowers. English is a language that can be both written and spoken: a single concept can take many forms.

Anyway sorry about the fact I have an opinion.

Quick hint? If five people immediately counteract your opinion, the correct response is not to make a sarcastic smartarse retort. It's also a nice irony that in stating that you have an opinion in that way, you've disregarded that fact that the people against you also have opinions.

Col.Feren

@Pixellated, I never said I did.

Whether you said you have expertise or not is irrelevant: the fact that you persist to argue is evidence against you. Why are you arguing something you have just admitted to having little knowledge of?

Well gee. If this is how you feel, then we might as well go around the Internet, and try to get all of the webcomics off the net. Get rid of every comic book in the world, every movie, every novel, every sort of piece of literature, tear down all the statues, monuments, buildings, architectures... hey, we can even work on banning music. No, better yet, let's go through all of our cookbooks, and rip out each and every single recipe so that we may all die of starvation. Would that make you happy? The world will be much, much more miserable, but hey, at least art will stick to its papery home.

Face it, artwork isn't just limited to stuff made on a canvas like the Mona Lisa. Almost anything can be considered artwork. If you make something, and people can admire it, if they can like it, if they enjoy it, then it's art. Think of all the great movies that the world has seen. All the awesome video games you've played. Sculptures and statues like Venus de Milo. I mean, crap, if this is how you feel about art, then you might as well ignore just about almost everything in the world.

I've always found it amusing the pursuit of making that which we will destroy and devour aesthetically appealing before doing so.

Yes, as I recall, Isambard Kingdom Brunel built one.

It was as big as a cottage and took three stout men to keep the boiler stoked.
