I left at enter the dragon fly, only needed to get burned once. besides I found my new love the Ratchet and Clank series. (amazingly also insomniac games... wonder if there is a pattern) Also tried a demo of one of the other ps2 spyros.. I do not remember what one.. but "you have not unlocked double jump" struck me as really really stupid. |

Oh for Goodness sake! It's a game for kids get a grip. Just because adults like it too is not a reason to go Medieval on each others asses! I think this is going to be like clone wars, people take it too seriously and forget why it's there. @Dan the 57, yeah R&C is good isn't it, have you unlocked the insomniac museum yet? EDIT:This Explanation does not count for a hero's tale, that flopped. |

Time to bury Spyro in the graveyard of the Video Game Sellouts that were So Good in my Youth but Nowadays are Unnecessary and Poor. I'll put him in between Crash Bandicoot and (Though in fairness, that Rabbids game looked decent. Alas.) |

I think Rayman's still alright. He still doesn't talk, he hasn't really been that major or in any spinoffs, and the Rabbids games have certainly kept my nephews occupied for a good year or so. |

I've actually always found Spyro's bratty-ness oddly endearing. Maybe it's just 'cause he's a cute little fucker. I'll stick with Ratchet for my wisecracking cartoon protagonists, though. |

See, Ratchet can get away with it because he has lots and lots of guns. Wisecracks and superior firepower go hand in hand. The problem is, the N64/PS1 generation pretty much burnt out traditional 3D platforming, and none of the classics have really survived in the same way. Mario is the closet to classics because, well c'mon it's Mario, but Sunshine and Galaxy both had lots of gimmicks to spice things up. Most platformers go down the route of gimmicks actually (to various degrees of success), Banjo-Kazooie got vehicles for one. Then you have franchise zombies like Spyro and Crash, and let's not even get started on Sonic. |

Not that gimmicks are are BAD thing, but Nuts and Bolts was barely even a platformer anymore. Sunshine and Galaxy's 'gimmicks' more or less added on to the platforming aspect, and Galaxy was practically closer to the classics than ever before, except for the gravity thing, but...
I wouldn't call Spyro and Crash "franchise zombies" (well, they WERE, before the last bunch of games), at least the guys making them are trying to revitalize them both with new ideas (even changing genres on Spyro's part, the devs must have realized how inherently silly making a platformer that starred a DRAGON was in the first place), and it's working out better and better with each game. Sonic Team, on the other hand, wouldn't have a clue how to improve Sonic properly even if you shoved the solution in front of their noses, Unleashed was shit.
He's cute, but the voice and the attitude by themselves more or less ruined it. That, and it never melded well together, IMO. Still, I prefer the Wood-voiced new version, and the new Sparx is funnier than anything in the original PSX game. Though, I don't get the Cynder hate. I like Cynder (SpyroxCynder confirmed FOR THE WIN), sure, I understand some may not like her for particular reasons, but calling her a Mary Sue? Really? Keep in mind that this is a character who was the final boss of the first game of the trilogy. |

Well, she is the whole reason Spyro did what he did. He didn't care about the Dark master in the second game, only about Cynder. And the final cutscenes of the third game kind of showed that he was only fighting because he cared for her; and I quote, "Because you've left me nothing to fight for!" - Spyro. Anyway, I preferred the original trilogy, but the LoS series wasn't all that bad. The games were immensely short, sadly, and the first two had little replay value if you weren't interested in blowing through the game just to view the cutscenes again. In my honest opinion, however, Dawn of the Dragon was the best Spyro game since the original trilogy. The other two weren't that great, too many control issues and the repetitiveness for some of the levels got rather annoying, but I enjoyed the story. In regards to this movie, things would definitely be better if another company were behind it. They don't exactly have a stellar reputation. |

You guys should chin up a bit, since this (possible) rubbish isn't being headed by Uwe Boll himself. |

To be fair, of course he'd care about her, she was the only other survivor from their "nest", and the other other female dragon he even knows. It would be only natural that they would at least care for each other, but at least they kept the romance part of it subtle.
Oh, yeah. Thank God nobody in the industry takes him seriously anymore. Most recently, my respect for Micheal Bay has risen. |

I wonder how much of a hypocrite you can call Bay for that. That said, you can't say Bay doesn't put effort into his movies. |
