With only 2 or so more specials featuring the current Doctor left, all eyes on who will be travelling with the new Doctor in 2010. It seems Karen Gillen will be filling in that role. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8073734.stm Posted Image Also, Tennant will be in 2 episodes of the new Sarah Jane Adventures series. Add to that, theres a new animated episode in production in the same setup as last years Infinite Quest. They're certainly not taking a break in Who'ness just because we have a new star role. No seree |

And thus, Pix's hope of David Walliams being an incredibly awkward companion was faded from existence. |

Ooh, readhead. There been any notable redheaded companions? I think there's been a few but my memory for hair colours is fuzzy... |

Donna, Mel, Turlough and Liz Shaw. It depresses me that it took me no time to remember that. Still, interesting news, though I do have two big requests in regards to her - one, can the character be from somewhere other than 21st century Earth and two, can she have absolutely no interest in getting in the Doctor's pants, just for a change? Oh, other Who news is that there are more than a few hints that a movie is in the works! It'll be the first time it's been on the big screen since 1966! |

See, this is why Leela is still one of my favourite companions. She's eccentric in the complete opposite way of the Doctor. |

That's not hard! Still, it should be interesting to see how she goes. Don't think I've seen her in anything before, actually. |

Whats with the sudden Tate hate? I thought she brought a different angle to the assistant role and enjoyed her in the last season. |

Donna was a great companion because she was essentially his friend. The lack of "DOCTOR! DO ME NOOOW!" was really rather nice, too. Still, I'd like to see another bloke in the Tardis. Maybe Captain Jack, as he's at his finest when he's not hanging out in Cardiff. |

I feel more yawnsome romance coming on. My friend just commented 'I'd be attracted to her-but I don't want to go to jail.' How about a future resistance fight companion or a more distant past companion? My top 5 companions for the Doctor would be Ivan Drago Hunter S Thompson Chris Morris in his Brass Eye Persona C'thulhu he Tyranid Hive mind. |

Screw that. He needs to be The Doctor, not the companion. |

...YES. Other Blokey companions... Hugh Laurie in full Bertie Wooster mode, but from the future. Steve Coogan as a complete tosser who learns a life lesson and becomes merely a jerk with a heart of gold. Alan Davies as a wartime PI. Maybe Adrian Lester as a future Torchwood agent, who hangs out with the Doctor to study aliens (And usually, better ways to combat them, which is why he and the Doctor could fall out). |

Agree with a bloke companion, it would make for a different, more buddy movie dynamic. The best classic male companions would have to be Harry Sullivan (because he was just classic Bertie Wooster!) and Turlough (for being a sarky little git, yet awesome at the same time). Hang on, would K9 count though... Here's an interesting thought, how about the Master as a companion, it could be like his community service? |

John Simms as the Master, accompanying David Tennant, would make a great special. |

Potentially even better, if the casting rumours are to be believed, David Tennant and Timothy Dalton as the Master! Oh, and sort of Who related, shiny new Torchwood trailer here! Not having massive hopes for it, but still, it looks intreguing... |

The Doctor would just take him back to the 1970s and dump him there. |
