Never heard of these people... but that kind of mess up is awesome...

Wonder who went around and checked all those photos.. and Why? Who had that much time on their hands

You have no idea what journalism is supposed to be about, do you?

To be fair, most journalists don't either.

Yes, logic. That's what rules our electoral system. Yessiree...

Wrong "we" -- I was referring to Average Citizens.

Let's face it -- most pols, of any stripe, are brain-dead bigots; the question is "what
are they brain-dead bigots *about*?".

I heard an interview with a bishop and a BNP member this morning, actually. I was actually cheering him on in my bathroom (the bishop, not the bastard from the BNP).

According to painstaking research by my brother, there are 72 million Turkish people in the world.
The BNP claim that there's an evil plan to relocate 80 million Turks here.

It's also apparent that the BNP love St George.
Spoilers: St. George was turkish

Yeah, what a lot of people in Blighty at least don't seem to realise is that St. George is the patron saint of Aragon, Catalonia, England, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece, Lithuania, Palestine, Portugal, and Russia... As well as the cities of Amersfoort, Beirut, Bteghrine, Cáceres (Spain), Ferrara, Freiburg, Genoa, Ljubljana, Gozo, Pomorie, Qormi, Lod, Barcelona and Moscow, boy scouts, syphillis sufferers, the Norweigian patron saint of cavalry, and that's not all.

So yeah. Not just ours.

And yet I know several people who want St. George's Day made into a national holiday.

I think next time I'll ask if it's because they have syphilis. Or an abnormal interest in boy scouts.

Apparantly they're posting these in Leicester city now, wouldn't like that job (this place had a freaking *celebration* after the Madrid bombings, I doubt BNP are going to get much of a foothold here).

as a purely outside observer who is admittedly firlmy against large government I fail to see how not wanting a bunch of non taxpaying foreign nationals leeching off one's own nation's economy and resources without contributing significantly is immoral. nor to I see any issue with wanting your military to be well equipped and not thrown idly into foreign wars.

but I know nothing of the BNP outside of this leaflet and a spitting image sketch where they spoofed the song from cabaret. but if the two political parties in America are any indication of political parties in general I assume that both the BNP and whatever the fuck other one there is are equally rife with corruption and fuck the people of the UK up the cornhole at every opportunity and that this leaflet is just the BNP advertising to people who share the BNP's sentiments.

The BNP is a very niche party here. The two major parties you'd have to look up to brush up on the UK political scene would be Labour (currently in office), and the Conservatives/Tories (likely candidates for winner of next election?). The Lib Dems are the third largest, but I don't think they've currently got much chance of getting into #10 in the current climate.

The problem with the BNP isn't that they oppose illegal immigration. Obviously a state wants and needs to be able to control and monitor its borders, and illegal immigration by its very definition needs to be controlled and minimised by any government. No party's going to support illegal immigration: it'd be a tad contradictory.

The problem with the BNP is the way it demonises illegal immigrants and 'immigrants' in general. References to illegal immigrants and asylum seekers in their case are very often just a nice convenient veil behind which to hide a very ugly breed of racism which implicitly defines all non-white people in Britain as having no right to be here. Their officials are frequently quoted blathering about 'Anglo-Saxons' and the old 'coming over 'ere, takin' our jobs' rubbish.

You're right though, the BNP haven't a leg to stand on when it comes to corruption. Their councillors are notorious for it.

Oh, and the Spitting Image Cabaret sketch was lampooning the Consevatives, not the BNP. Hence the giant faces of Margaret Thatcher and Norman Tebbit looming out of the mist.

In addition to those councillors having records for, amongst other things, assault, GBH and drug dealing.

Major, long and short of it is the BNP is effectively the KKK who've dropped the robes and gone for cheap suits.

QFT

I live in Peckham, which has a largely Afro-Carribean population. We haven't had any leaflets dropped through our letter boxes, naturally.

I doubt they'll ever actually rise to prominence, though, not with the constant Nazi comparisons being made.

Probably judged by the criterion "which cities react most like Leicester".

This City's full of muslims, stealing jobs, worshipping strange, foreign gods and wearing clothes which are different to my clothes. Get rid of 'em, I say.

Pardon the ignorance -- what is "GBH"?

Oh, and Getting 300,000+ Troops Out Of Continental Europe Before They Can Be
Put INto German POW Camps constitutes a victory in my book. (Granted, it would
have been nice if they'd not been in that position in the first place.... :P )

Greivous Bodily Harm.

okay, please explain this.

is it anything like "aggravated assault with deadly weapon" or "attempted murder"?

I think "greivous" and imagine something like that scene from reservoir dogs where that one guy is lying on the floor and bleeding all over from a nasty gut wound for the whole movie.

From what I understand GBH is basically hurting someone a lot, but not enough to kill or have the intent to kill. But broken bones don't count for some reason if I'm reading the wiki page correctly (that's assault) and we still have the assault with deadly weapons, and attempted murder.

Also you have absolutely no excuse for not looking it up yourself.

so it's serious but not particularly lethal. that makes sense.
