What DVD do you own that you look at and it makes you cringe at the fact you bought it?

Mine is Evan Almighty. I think Steve Carrel is incredibly funny and I thought Bruce Almighty was a return to form for Jim Carrey so I picked it up for £3 in Woolworths...I regret that decision now. It's one of the most disappointing, unfunny films. It's like the entire movie managed to suck out Steve Carrel's talent and make him just look like a tit. And considering I own a DVD called "The Last Dragon" which is basically Walking with Dinosaurs, but with dragons, and I still consider that better than this pile of shit it says a lot.

technicly not a dvd... but Spider man 3 blueray, it came with my ps3.. I never saw the original in theatres because how much I actually liked venom, but knew Sam Raimi hated him, so I was wary.

I have watched it once.... and considered microwaving it.

The only DVDs I've ever bought have been the LOTR Extended set, and the Matrix Complete set.

That LOTR box set is only £18 at the moment. Even if you have the films separately, get this set. All the extras alone are worth more than three times that price, and I'm sure anyone else who's watched them here will agree with me.

Oh, I've got a few. The first Resident Evil movie, Resident Evil: Degeneration and Van Helsing: The London Assignment. I am so morbidly ashamed to have bought those DVDs that I hid them away in a different part of the house.

You have no right to complain until you've seen the utter clusterfuck that is the seventies animated version!

As for my DVD collection, I don't keep any of the embarressments, but I will say the one I most regretted wasting hard earned lucre on was Jason X, why I did that I have no idea. On a related note, I've mentioned before being part of the Imperial College Sci-Fi society, and we've got some real stinkers on the shelves of our library, the worst has to be (and some random member donated this, we didn't actually spend money on it) Flesh Gordon, which is exactly what you think it is. We have a special drawer of shame for titles of that quality.

The one just titled Lord of the Rings, done by Ralph Bakshi and released by Warner Brothers that looks like this. Also, see this review to get an idea of why this one's so reviled.

Not much of an embaressment, more confusion as to why I bought Minority Report and The Sixth Sense. MR causew i thought it was ok but not exactly a thrilling movie i would watch again.

And sixth sense i havent actually seen yet its on my list to watch, yet now that I own I've never really sat down to watch it.

"A River Runs Through It."

I'm not the sort of person who needs every single film I watch to be a moronic action-fest filled with guns and guts. I rather like personality dramas. I love movies like "Citizen Kane" and "A Beautiful Mind" that examine a flawed hero.

But this film... I do not get it. It bored the living shit out of me. It was mostly about fly-fishing, and... more fly-fishing... and... Brad Pitt looking pretty before he was Tyler Durden. It was supposedly about rebelling against paternal authority, but nobody ever does anything rebellious. It was slow and completely unsatisfying and I've happily shoved it into a back rack where I don't ever plan on watching it again.

Given that most of my DVD collection is the comlete sets of Star Trek: Voyager and Stargate Sg-1 then I'd have to say almost all of it.

Urotsuikidoji.

I... have no excuses. Well, apart from it coming with Perfect Blue and Blood: The Last Vampire. Even so, I should burn it. The dubbing is terrible.

Yeah. That's the only reason I'm ashamed of Urotsuikidoji. The dubbing.

MAN there's something wrong with me.

'You have no right to complain until you've seen the utter clusterfuck that is the seventies animated version!'

i saw that on my grandmas betamax in like, 04, twas turd of a massive magnitude. i had to call a priest to cleanse it with purifying holy flame.

i wasnt sure whether to be turned on or not by overfiend...its was just wierd and tentacle.

i'd say my shame would beeee....i dont have one i download everything first. i have had some serious stinkers though but most are independent zombie movies that were probably done on home video and put on demonoid.
i do have some games i cant even get rid of though. a month or two after it came out serious sam 2 was being given away free with preorders..i was unfortunate enough to recieve a copy and i can't even give it away to drunk people.

I just want to ask if I will be considered a complete and utter freak for liking the animation styling of those movies, and be shunned for ever more on this board? I want to ask before I admit to anything...

My guilty DVD? I still watch it every once and a while. Yes. I warp time.

Shameful DVD. Shameful DVD. Hmm...

Only one that comes to mind is the first live-action Inspector Gadget movie. I loved watching the cartoon show as a kid, and when word spread around that there was going to be a live-action movie, I thought "Sweet."

Then, I bought it.

I thought, "Not sweet."

Ugh, I remember seeing that for the first time, thankfull it was on tv so i had the option to switch channels at least. Not everything translates well to live action and that was a good example.

I never buy DVDs, though I might pick up WALL-E. The one that I'd like to get rid of is Garfield 2, which was a Christmas present. Thank ye gods that Bill Murray never does trilogies.

'House Of The Dead'

You mean the film has worse acting than the SEGA series?
