I state my case. Well, not exactly my case, but I support what this video represents. I never thought one could possibly make The Dark Knight a better movie until I saw what this video implicates. The Dark Knight will forever be one of my favorite movies, but since Begins I've always been irritated by the soundtrack. I find the team-up of Howard Zimmer and James Newton Howard to score Batman to be completely underwhelming and minimalistic. In conclusion, Danny Elfman is the man, and Howard and Zimmer can choke on it. Who's with me!? |

Hans Zimmer's Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks weren't that bad. Buy yes, Williams is by far the best. |

Sorry, but I have to disagree in this case, the soundtrack for Dark Knight was one of the best bits for me and Zimmer's works always work well. So you can take that choke and smoke it, lol. |

Yes, Williams is awesome, but that's not the point. Maybe if Williams had done something with the Batman franchise we could compare it, but really this is all conjecture when you add Williams to the mix. |

Sorry, but the only thing I can think of that fulfils that criteria is Angel Delight. Which isn't "some things". |

Okay. I guess I should make a note that I don't actually hate Zimmer and Howard as composers. Personally I liked Zimmer's work in Driving Miss Daisy, The Lion King, Muppet Treasure Island, The Prince of Egypt, Gladiator, Pearl Harbor (Soundtrack was good, the movie sucked), The Last Samurai, and King Arthur. Additionally, I liked Howard's work in The Fugitive, Space Jam, Stir of Echoes, The Sixth Sense, Signs, Peter Pan, Lady in the Water, and I Am Legend. BUT, I am talking about Batman here. And Batman (in any media outlet) trumps any of those movies. So, naturally, I'm offended when the composers for any Batman vehicle give us something which is, in my opinion, lackluster. We've seen great things from both of Zimmer and Howard, so why is it that when they come together that the produce massive amounts of suck that can only be rectified when you replace it with something out of the eighties? Is it that Zimmer and Howard's talent cancel each other out? Whatever is it, it's all massive amounts of bullshit. |

Yeah, the Dark Knight soundtrack was perfectly fine on its own. His theme for the Joker is chilling stuff, and his action cues had just the right amount of bombast. Besides, Shirley Walker did far more with the Batman theme that Elfman composed than Elfman ever did. |

"So what if we took The Dark Knight soundtrack and merged it with the Batman and Robin one?" |
