I'd forgotten how awesome it was.

It's awesome, by the way. They seem to have kept very faithful to the comics, even in image. I'd forgotten how much I wanted to see a film version of Rorschach as well.

AWESOME!
I shall certainly be there on release day first in line. All the characters look spot on especially Rorschach and The Comedian.

As a person who has never read the original comics of many of these decent comic based films, I am suddenly psyched to see Watchmen.

If you haven't read Watchmen, go buy it, or rent a copy from your local library. That applies to all of you.

Now I have to admit that trailer does look pretty good. However, I still have my doubts about it, especially considering the director did 300 (a film which I don't like, but then that's probably more the fault of the source material), and when you consider the sheer depth and detail in the original comic that probably won't survive the transition to the screen.

I'll reserve judgement until I've seen it; I just know I'm going to end up seeing it because I'm a huge fan of the original comic.

Well, I'm pretty damn impressed, not only for how much it resembles the comic, but also from the sheer amount of different scenes from it I recognised, from the Vietnam bits to the parts on Mars, it looks like the comic come to life. I wasn't that keen on 300, but my problems with it mainly stem from the story, the direction I liked. I've got a good feeling about this, but I do wonder though how condensed aspects of it will be, how much will they have trimmed the story down, or shortened it, the books sheer head crushing depth and length mean that even if you miss out the pirate comic, and the bits from Behind the Hood and all that stuff, I cannot see this being anywhere less than two and a half hours long.

Most movies these days seem to be around two hours anyway. I swear they're getting longer at any rate, or it might just be the previews.

I noticed that too, although thats not a bad thing really. It's when films start reaching the 3 hour mark that you start to turn heads.

I do agree, but the thing is, 300 very true to the source, in that it captured the feel and the spirit of the book, but did take liberties. The end product was something different, and yet very much 300.

Watchmen couldn't be filmed. It may be nowhere as good as the novel, but if it captures just the flavour, the feel of it, it'll outclass almost everything that Hollywood has churned out in the last few years.

Quoted for truth. I don't think there's anything more that can be added there.

Apparently the whole Black Galleon and Behind the hood are being released as well as a DVD to tie in with the film. So super speciala wesome edition will have the film, Galleon, Hood plus the usual stuff. Though if the Special edition came with a free Rorschach mask I'd kill the lot of you to own it.

Also-I wonder how the.... thing Ozymandias teleports into NY is going to look
Spoilered for those who haven't read it 35 minutes ago

I -liked- the pirate comic, I was surprised to find it, though it was annoying when it appeared at a cliffhanger, or in the middle of an important scene.

This, looks amazing. I love whoever is playing Rorschach, also Mr Manhattan looks amazing.

That's Doctor Manhattan-I didn't go to medical school to be call Mr Manhattan.

I do wonder how audiences are going to react to this though. Manhattans meant to be unrelatable, Canarys annoying Ozymandias=Utopian loon and how the hell they're going to deal with a psychopath as an actuall hero is beyond me. That and the whole 'The Comedian is a rapist thing
