My school recently fell apart so we had a day off. Normally I would be happy but however I actually wanted to be in due to coursework and exam revision etc… The reason it fell apart was because a cable snapped on a bridge that cut all electricity to our school (and yet they didn’t let us go home) so we had no lights or computers to work with. Eventually the temperature dropped but sadly just above the health and safety limit so again we where stuck inside the ‘fridge’. Eventually some stupid person decided that they would break a pipe so some of the top floor flooded and leaked into the ground floor causing more havoc but then it was time for us to leave (due to school finishing) and have a day off. I did have a good time, I went to town with my friends and we where virtually the only kids their and because it was a weekday we got the… comfortable Starbucks chairs! ^^. Anyway we had a really good time. The next day however was unbearable because of the heating failure the heating was turned up to its full capacity and it was a hot day so we could literally fry eggs on our history teachers forehead :P . So I was wondering if your school / collage / university is as utterly crap as ours? |

Not exactly broke but while waiting for a room to be unlocked, me and a few others noticed a cable hanging just outside the window on that corridor. Curiosity getting the better of us as to what the cable was attached to seeing as it was cut off at the end we could see, cable is pulled in through the window....we later found out that somehow we were beginning to pull several workstations along in the room down the corridor  At least it wasn't me in the office meeting without coffee :<_<: |

Whoa who Jinxed that place? Well Lincoln University's fave trick to really piss us off is to change our timetable when no-ones looking, one week we got Monday and Wendsday off then we look again and they compleatly re-arrage it, three times! Also not letting us into the computer lab untill two weeks before deadline, that was fun :<_<: |

Not really broken but a few mishaps. Not long ago (sometime before Christmas break) our school had a gas leak and because our school is being renovated at present, my theory is that one of the builders hit a gas pipe and the whole school was evacuated. We had to walk over to a primary school where they could barely fit us in and we had to call buses and parents and phone radio stations so people could pick us all up. They had it fixed by the next day but I wasn't in so I had to get my bag the day after that (two days after the accident). No one ever told us what really happened though. And just before lunch not long after the gas incident, the school had a power cut. No one knew if we had to go home or not because the school was pitch black. So I left for lunch and came back (let me tell you how fun it is to walk around in the dark looking for your friends and tripping over discarded bottles :<_<: ) and then they sent us to our registration classes to check everyone was still present and hey presto the lights came back on. The strange part was that both incidents happened on the exact same weekday in the exact period in the exact same class. I'm pretty sure it's jinxed. This was in my second high school. In my first one everyone was walking along to maths and one of the teachers walking along with us pushed a pupil out of the way for no reason. Then all of a sudden the ceiling burst and flooded the hallway. For this we couldn't go in that corridor for the rest of the day and no, we didn't go home. |

My school, to put it quite simply, is a hole of disease. In middle school, making very good grades, and doing quite well...If you don't count the fact that in the past three weeks I have caught: Influenza, two stomach viruses, and six colds. And yet I have not been sick enough to go home  . I'm preety sure if someone starts spewing everything they had to eat in the past three hours they are allowed to go home. |

My highschool had not one, but TWO incidents where the people doing construction to add on managed to hit one of the gas lines. Had to evacuate the building; once during my Sophomore year, and then they did it again my Junior year. x . x; Smart people, them. We've also had various bomb threats and lockdowns because the Freshmen are little attention-seeking snots. And my Senior year, we did a mock Presidential campaign for my Civics class, and someone lit one of the campaign posters on fire during one of the lunch periods... left a nice scorch mark on the wall. Also, people seem to really like breaking the windows set in the door leading in and out of the main office; every time I turned around, they were cracked and duct-taped. But my favorite thing of all was how vastly obvious it was that they never actually CLEANED the building (and my high school is NOT large; my graduating class had barely 200 students). Example: any time we came in after a vacation, if you went in the gymnasium, you could see that they'd waxed the floor... and under the wax was a clearly noticable layer of dirt. Another example: one of my friends who was in the school band told me about how someone had left a Twinkie up on a shelf two years before we'd come up from the middle school, and it was still there (and they were contemplating feeding it to one of the Freshmen). Also, an admittedly immature friend of mine decided to try an experiment our Freshman year... she took a mayo packet from the cafeteria and emptied it onto the floor near the wall outside one of the bathrooms... Senior year, it was still there. No lie. Safe to say, I was THRILLED the day I graduated. |

Hmm... I've never actually had a misfortune quite the size of the ones mentioned here, but where I'm at, the music building's cooling/heating system randomly goes AWOL at different parts of the semester. Like, this week. It's funny, too, the way it goes out... certain rooms are fine; others, unbearably hot. And seeing how I spend a great deal of my time in this building, I've basically decided it sucks. |

The largest campus in America can't keep its electricity on. THE Ohio State University had a power outage. Fortunately, I didn't have any homework to do online....oh wait, yes I did. Did it get done? The answer is no. At least the internet was back up after the electricity came back. Oh, I'm wrong again, it wasn't. This sarcastic, frustrated post brought to you by "Dammit, life, stop screwing me over." :ninja: |

There was a power outage at my school once. We got to go home early. It was kind of fun though; walking around the entire school with flashlights... |

My high school in the middle of nowhere (Ellicott, Colorado) was destroyed by a tornado two days after summer break. 2001. What luck. I'm graduated from HS now, waiting to get into college to make the games some of you sell. |

More news from the hole of disease! Apparently the people at my school thinks its funny to hold a dance, cancel it, and force every kid to stay an hour because the bus drivers wouldn't be back for another hour. |

Well, my old school wasn't broken at all, and the English Department certainly isn't broken as well... The worst thing I experienced was on a stay at the MSU* -> Water Main Break. Explicit orders to use the basement bathrooms and only ... disgusting ... water. Yuck. Afterwards, I was told that it wasn't that bad every day, but these news sure did not help it. *Michigan State University |

Parts of my school are rubbish. For instance my year toilets, (Yes there are seperate toilets for each year), is a joke. No matter what we've said to teachers NOTHING happens. They've said we have to fix it ourselves if we want to do something about it. :<_<: And it always reaks of cigarettes. One good point though: Apparently in one of the girls toilets there was "Do you think this guy is a twat? If so tick the wall" There were ticks all over the wall. :D |
