I got over it. Mostly because I remember when a box of Marines was £10. And that wasn't that long ago. I don't mind GW making a profit. I just don't like them, to my mind, taking the piss. And £18 for a box of soldiers is taking the piss. Still kept my stuff, so I may get back into Kill-Team or Necromunda, but 40k/Fantasy is too rich for my blood now. |

I swear they probably make around 10x profit on what it actually costs to make the stuff for the plastic models. :<_<: |

Depends on who you play and what you play. I always found GorkaMorka very affordable, My Chaos Warriors (of T'zeentch naturally) less so. Pity the poor Skaven players though.... |

Because Gorkamorka was Necromunda with 80% added fun. I'd love to see that rereleased, even just the rulebook. |

I mostly play things like Necromunda, Inquisitor (On 40K scale) and Quest now-a-days too. I'd love to see Gorkamorka rereleased. I do also maintain a Tau army...but I just wait for the vouchers on Birthdays and Xmas then use them to add to it. |

In Canada it tends to be very expensive. I've made myself a solemn vow to never-again buy anything made by Games Workshop U.S, so far I've seen about 8 fucked-up box-sets and 3 fucked-up blister packs all made by U.S. Games Workshop. Eldar isn't exactly the cheapest army either to make things just a tad worse. |

Sadly, Warhammer talk has ended :( But anywho I think that human kind is forgetting that we only need what's needed for survival, then I think back to Warhammer and one word comes to mind: Dammit. |

I really couldn't be stuffed with warhammer after they introduced the redo of current models. Forcing everyone to buy new sets due to the fact that what they had became obsolete. |

Erm, no. I've known people who were, back when I was still in the hobby, using original release Marines. You know, Beakies? From 1986? As long as it's Citadel, and you can see what it's using, it's legit if you want to use it in a store or official tournement. Outside of official settings, you can use what you like. There's no official ruling saying you must use the most up-to-date models. They upgrade the models over the years because, hey, most of the time the look cool. But never once in my entire time have I heard people being "forced". I don't like Games Workshop that much, anymore. But I resent the whole "OMG TEH EVIL EMPRIE!!!11" shit that certain communities bring up. You know why GW are the biggest? They consistently put out high-quality products, with the easiest availibility, and largest amount of after-sales help and advice. Privateer Press are getting bigger, fair play to them, but to say they'd be any different if they were a multinational corperation is blind fanboyism. Ah well. Personally I like DP9 at the moment, if only for their mecha miniatures. Battletech may have far better rules, but DP9 has far better sculptors. |

I don't mind Games Workshop (Cept' for the U.S one of course :P) and I'm quite happy with Warhammer 40k at the moment. To be honest I've never actually heard of many other table top games because the nearest place where we can buy/play anything is a large place called Gamer's Lair and most of the people that come there are either playing some sort of card game (Magic: the gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh or some other Fad) or playing Warhammer. The only other game I've heard of would be Blood Bowl but I know jack about it. 40k's pricing isn't a problem for me though because I've currently got a job and being grade 9 in highschool means I pay no rent, so I'm very well off. I believe they have those DP9 models at that Gamer's Lair place, I want to see what that game is about (Sides' robots ;) ) though I am going to stick with my hard-earned 40k army for awhile of course. Would you mind explaining the outline of DP9? |

DP9 have a number of tabletop games, though the main one is Heavy Gear. Basically, it's set in the future, on a colonized planet that's been at civil war for a while, and only now is it enjoying a somewhat tenuous ceasefire. Also, the facist Earth government (Is there any other kind in the future?) has tried to take the planet back, with no success. Or somesuch. http://www.dp9.com/ That have demo rulepacks kicking around. Like I said, the rules aren't too hot bu the miniatures are some of the best mech minis on sale. |

Those DP9 models look very well detailed. Worth further investigation. Looks like my type of game. Heavy Gear was a cartoon though...i think. A while ago. |

I used to collect Warhammer 40k and Fantasy, as well as Mordheim and Battlefleet: Gothic... However, I've since stopped, more due to lack of time than lack of money. And of course lack of opponents. Kind of pointless to build a huge army when you're never going to use it. Since we're on the subject of tabletop battle games, has anyone here ever heard of the game Warzone? It's set in the Mutant Chronicles universe... |

I got a small Gorka Morka army tucked away somewhere, but never got to play with them much. But i also got a few Lord of the Rings models, mainly from that magazine with free models on the front they did a while back, was cheeper to buy one of those than to go into the store and buy a set. Personally when i get chance i prefer the painting and construction of the models rather than gaming (I'm exceptionally proud of my Lurtz figure :)). |

combined with
does not compute... Oh, and according to GW's financial figures for the last year, their profit margin is about %70. The industry average is around %15. Necromunda for the win! |

They also say that you're a confounded idiot and you're wasting your life.
I don't know what world you're living in, but it obviously can't contain any bigger aspirations at your current rate of thinking.
So it's a ritual now? Boy. They say it takes a village to raise a child but I don't think too many of these kids are growing up. And in fact, the ones who do are usually the kinds living in their mother's basement on the porn-peppered computer with a slice of pizza in one hand and their overly-stroked-- Let's not get into those sorts of pople. Jesus H. Christ, I used to encounter people like this in Junior High! I used to be physically attacked for stepping on peoples' shoes! But case and point, it shows how ignorant they are. If you don't want people to dirty your shoes, DON'T WEAR THEM. If you're not gonna wear a pair of shoes, DON'T FUCKING BUY THEM. I don't see why people over here happen to be so up-and-arms over such trivial things. Fashion. That is one thing I'll never understand. |
