I wanted to know if I could import styles easily or not. From what I managed to get, the answer is no. I am not a good drawer to begin with. And Lothar's hat, which I constantly call now a fedora, and spikes were pain.

Scetch:
When I drew this, this was the third accempt to do Lothar. Just because I wanted to try to draw the 'sonic' style. I was going to leave it there, until I found a pen that was my personal best inking pen, which I though was lost half a year ago. So I traced the scetch.

Ink:
Mistakes. The back and neck (does anyone drawn in sonic style even have necks?) didn't connect right, and it didnt got fixed. About the spikes. As I was going over the comic, I saw that the pattern seemed to be three spikes on each side and one or two smaller on the back of the head. I started on tracing the fedora, do you see that?

I still cant color well, it still takes too fecking long time. No comment on the coloring.

Initional resaults, I cant adapt to other styles after one drawing.

No Sonic Characters do not have necks.

You should really do a faint online before doing the detail, with a few circles. Most Sonic faces are circular with the extras, such as the dreadlocks shading the head completely. Generally muzzles, even echidna muzzles don't stick out that far.

Another, slightly ecliptic circle for the torso. Yours isn't bad though. A bit on the thin and long side.

You could've also made the hands bigger in relation to the feet.

Overall not bad though. Seen worse. Practice some more, perhaps use a comic as reference if you haven't already.

You did a good job for just starting at sonic characters, might wanna work on his form abit though. As Hunter said above me, most characters tend to have the rounded head with the add ons added to its form. I like the coloring job very good man, keep up the good work *thumbs up*

I do draw first the circles and that first, but the shape of a sonic body confused me utterly. I have been told the head is too small (I usually manage to draw 7-8 head long characters). Drats, I thought I had done ok on the main body.

About the muzzle. I was actually going first to see how Lothar would look 'my style'. The muzzle would have been longer if I hadn't figured out. I just faintly remembered that echidna was insectivore, and had longer muzzle compared to body size with a wolf, which is what I usually draw.

My version of Lothar was going to have spikes/quills from his back, roughly quarter to third of the size of the dreadlocks. Silly, aint it?

So, if I am going to try for sonic style again, I really need to do the heads right and correctly. And the hand was too small, body too long and thin. Alright, I will remember that if I ever try again.

About my coloring, it is a pain. Since my inking is bad, I cannot choose so well the spaces with the magic wand for flat coloring. So I multiply the layer (so layers below it will show up, but lineart retains while I color behind them) The flat coloring was done with a brush and eraser. Took over half an hour. As for the shading and highlighting: Burn and Dodge tools. Takes too much bloddy time.

drawing sonic style is quite a pain, i always come out with the head too small or too big for the body, or the body in itself is too short or tall XD;

And inking and colouring .... *hisses* that's a whole rant in itself

Your drawing turned out really well ^^ Cant wait to see more :3

Of course, you don't expect anyone to catch onto art and already do good from the start. Try working on smaller necks if you want necks anyhows, my Sonic fan character has a neck. Yes, even though echinidas are insectivores, the Sonic style has a smaller one. The Hand should be as big as the biggest "sketch" circle used to make the head shape. And the foot is supposedly as big as the space between the wrist and the elbow. Hmm...a whole Sonic style physics class. ^^

The art is a good try nonetheless...
