The Impaler

Any Terrorist who is caught in Minnesota while I am Governor, will find out what the true meaning of my nickname 'The Impaler' means.  Right in front of our State Capital. Then Fed’s can take the terrorist’s body from the impaling stake. If the US Department of Justice (DOJ) wants to charge me with brutally murdering a terrorist, they may do so. I do not see an American Jury convicting me.

He's right, we wont.

Either he's pissing about, or he's insane.

Not exactly the kind of guy you want running the show.

I'd rather not have someone who'd impale people in charge of anything, let alone a bloody state.

Honesty doesn't change the fact that he is.

This is excellent, I have to write an essay on religious extremism in Western democracies! I wouldn't worry about this guy, he's way too out of field. Be more worried about the guys who are only slightly less crazy but have all the influence, like Anne Coulter.

I wonder if satanism is an officially recognised religion in 'secular' America.

I think it's like it is over here. It's classed under "Misc", with other not as major, but still significant, religous groups.

Like Jedi.

Meh, Makes a change from all the Jesus freaks running the show-Though if he plans to get tough on drugs he ain't much of a Satanist. Besides-It's not as though he'll actually WIN. But at least , as has been noted he's being honest. Let's face it if the Christian right had it's way, Gays,Intellectuals, Listeners of music heavier than Elvis and people who believe in Evolution would be shot, burned, lynched and executed in the street. Would I vote for him? Maybe-it's not like there's much choice in US elections anyway.

Well I haven't read any of his recent interviews so I can't tell you big reds position. However in the Satanic Bible (and yes I've read the bloody thing, no I'm not a Goth/Satanist and I was tired of re-reading the Anarchists cookbook) Drugs and drug use are seen as a way of expanding the mind and conciousness. And seeing as hoe Satanisim as an ethos is based strongly on the Nietszchean (Christ what a word) viewpoint of man vs all others, drugs can be seen as a way of advancing ones "strength" Also Satanist are often also hedonists-so drug use fits in very well with thier ideals.

(Note: HunteRS does NOT condone OR condemn the use of drugs. We must remember Caffeine is a drug-and I replaced my blood with Red Bull last Year.
If you all wana smoke the heaten devil weed Marijuannathat's fine-but I ain't gonna show you how)

I would have thought Nietszche wouldn't like drugs, as they tend to physically weaken humans and society (eg. heroin and it's effect on many communities). Still, he was an weirdo anyway- his philosophy was part of the train of nationalist thought that led to the Nazis.

I wonder what would happen if this guy had a debate with one of the Christian conservatives? They'd agree about how terrorists should all be publicly tortured and executed, but then the Christian would have to condemn him to hell or something.

Secular means that the church has no say in the government.

this nation is secular, as evident by the simple fact that there are so many religious groups that aren't rounded up and massacred.

To my knowledge, satanic chaplains are allowed in the Military, as are mormon, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, and Buddhist.

and shut up about Ann Coulter, she's not crazy, just a bitch.

What do you expect? he worships the devil for crying out loud.

I just think it would be interesting to see what he'd do in office.

this is the same reason I voted for bush. he keeps me amused while at the same time not fearful that the they're going to lock me up for having a gun.

Weeeeellll...There is (as with any church) schisms on the use of drugs. There are those who believe in the Satanic church (and the temple of Set) that drugs damage ones ability to rise above the herd and become as strong as one can be. The others either say that drugs are 'the doors to perception' (Aldlous Huxley) or that the Satanic life style is all about sex, drug and rock 'n' roll.

Surely if the other guy was a real Christian he'd turn the other cheek, and not agree with impalement?

Sorry, I meant one of the Christians in US politics, you know, the ones who are far too opinionated. It's a real shame they seem to live by the parts of Christianity that are very much open to debate (I'm a Christian, but I'm fine with gay marriage) rather than the whole forgiveness and love thing.

I didn't know Aldous Huxley was a satanist, although I suppose it figures. Am I right in thinking that the Satanism being referred to here is more the general worship of nature and such, rather than actual worship of Satan?

I don't think a Satanist running in politics is different from any other politician who runs on a religious base (although his particular policies are, of course, extreme to the least).

rather than the whole forgiveness and love thing.

They exist, but they're usually more concerned with living a good life, rather than yelling about how they're a Christian. Odd thing I've noticed.

This is a country where one of the most popular window stickers is a terrorist hunting permit.

the only two groups here that woukld readily dissaprove of impalement are liberal pussies who think that the terrorists are the good guys, and right wing nutjobs wjo say it's too good for them.
