As some Americans might have reralised, yesterday was the launch of the PSP and such. But how much are ppl willing to pay for the Value Packs and subsequent games?

The frenzy over the PSP's US launch has crossed over to the wrong side of the law. According to The Charlotte Observer, a man in Charlotte, NC, decided to grab some PSP Value Packs via five-finger discount on Tuesday night. The crook reportedly moseyed into a GameStop store after the retailer received its shipment of PSPs. Then he entered the storeroom and walked out with 12 PSP Value Packs. When confronted by an employee on the way out, the thief attempted to "knock her glasses off her face" and continued on his way out of the store. The perpetrator remains at large.

You would have thought security would be a bit more better. Maybe we should have had the guys from "Knife vs Car".

I wouldn't be so harsh. As an employee of Gamestop, the moment we get in any shipment of systems, we usually lock them up in cabinets instantly. It could have been that they just got the shipment and weren't able to lock them up right away, because it could have been when the store was open and they were busy.

Either way, I wouldn't call the employees "stupid". It did say he went into the backroom and grabbed the stuff, meaning that they did try to put it away. Now, if the stuff was sitting in the middle of the floor, unattended, then, yes, it would be stupid. Very stupid.
