How does he know for a fact that they're making one?
If they haven't written it, how would he know?

Because it's been said on a lot of movie sites and on many Halo sites as well. Hell I heard about the possibility of one being made 4 months ago, and even so nothing has been OFFICIALLY confirmed about a Halo movie. So in fact they are not making one "for a fact" they are in the process of discussing a Halo movie being made.

Also Movies don't have to be in production to be known about. For example, the new Live Action Transformers movie is just starting to be made and its been "known" about for 2 years.

Now stop acting like you know what you are talking about.

Uwe boll is currently doing two other movie tie ins...bloodrayne and hunter: the reckoning...

And Far Cry. Don't forget Far Cry.

At least that game sounds like it was made for him. Lots of islands, shooting, blowing stuff up and monsters. I don't think even *he* could screw that up by much.

I doubt they'd be able to get water that looks quite so nice, though.

And how is HE going to know when they haven't even written the damn thing yet?

*i could be the writer*

:D

only jking.

all i know about halo is what i scooped off the news rounds which is microsoft are looking for a company to fund and crew it and currently the writer of 28 days later is putting a script together.

and yes i forgot he was doing far cry...which pisses me off. far cry is a good game...bloodrayne and hunter are both crap so i dont care much for crap movies but far cry shouldnt be f*cked with at all.

They made a House of the Dead movie? How can you make that anyway? without it looking like the same formula of zombie kill human movie/story?

any video game-based move can and will suck ass because most of these directors, screenwriters, and/or producers haven't touched a joystick since the days of Atari

no it will suck ass because hollywood thinks it can make a movie with a cheap director, cheap writer and a pathetic budget and still make a fuckload of money. shockingly enough they are right.

no one takes computer games serious and the simple fact that fans will still go to the film even if its crap will ensure hollywood will continue making them (resident evil 2 sucked yet it still made mundo profit and now they are making a res evil 3 :( )

its the homer simpson complex...which would you rather do?

Work your ass of putting together an amzing piece of craft and risk it bombing.

or be lazy stick in pg13 tits and violence ensure huge profits...rinse and repeat till filthy rich.

i snuck in to alone in the dark and walked out 3 minutes later, the director should have acid thrown in his face twice.

i have hope for the Silent Hill movie since its being directed by Christophe Gans who did Brother Hood of the Wolf

Im not sure what to think about John Woos interest in a Metroid movie

I liked the Resident Evil movies, and I'm certainly not a fan of the game series...

I think that's the point. People tend to get annoyed when a film based on their favourite property (Be it Transformers, videogames or Cthulhu) is marketed at the lowest common demoninator rather than the fans.

Arra... some things really shouldn't be turned into movies... I mean, there's really a fine line between what's good on a big screen and spinning in your gamecube/xbox/whatever. For example, Metroid is one of my favorite video game series' ever, but a chick running around in a metal suit in a movie doesn't sound very good, especially when we have no idea about her personality, or hardley even her looks. There's just too much room for people to screw that up when turning it into a movie.

And while we're on that note, maybe we should get back on topic or have this thread moved er sumthin.
